This project aircraft has been superbly described in Dan Sharp's "Secret Projects" series. It was an elaborate answer to the project task of building an aircraft out of steel. I honestly think it deserves a book of its own. It would be great to see, by using modern simulation technology, if this could actually work. An aircraft made of steel..not a small thing !
