Thanks for the notice, Grey Havoc. Sounds like the last pilot had a full life; good. Of course, many of the Few didn't survive the war.

Sad to see him pass away but he served King and Country with honour and distinction helping Great Britain when it was on the ropes facing invasion by the Nazis, 105 is a very good run and very few people get to live that long, Rest In Peace.

I have no doubt he will be given a military funeral however I think being the last of the Few and their critical importance in the Battle of Britain I think think that the old fellow should be given a state-funeral.

This is one reason why I wish The Queen was still alive because if he is given a state funeral then it would've been a send off by one veteran of the War to another veteran of it.

That depends. He’s an Irish resident, so there may be paperwork, or even just the risk of base reactions from certain segments of Irish society to consider.
