Plans are being made to jettison the entire rear fuselage of the Arado 234 B, the Arado 234 C3 and the C5. The resulting downward pitching motion causes the aircrew to be ejected.
For the C3 and C5 models, enlarging the exit opening using explosive charges is necessary. This presents exceptional difficulties, as the detonation occurs in the immediate vicinity of the crew. Rechlin will conduct explosive tests using experimental cockpit sections.
