Does anyone know of a good source of information on the Thor IRBM? There is a detailed official history of its contemporary, the Jupiter, on the internet, but I haven't found an equivalent for Thor. I'm trying to locate a good weight breakdown for the combat missile, and although there are...

With the recent Skysentry thread, we've seen a couple of variants of the DC-6 & DC-7 (I believe) variants, as well as the B-52 competition's Douglas dark horses jet powered bomber versions of the DC-6. I know there was the DC-4M Merlin powered & the Carvair ferry versions of the DC-4, firebomber...

Manned Aerodynamic Reusable Spaceship. Presented by Douglas in 1962 for the Aerospaceplane (ASP) contest. Clearly, someone at Douglas had watched "When Worlds Collide" a few too many times. This was designed not as a true SSTO, but as a twin-ship formation... one carrying payload, the other...

The A4D-4 was a 1958 proposal for a long-range all-weather attack version of the Skyhawk. It would be capable of delivering a nuclear weapon at low altitude. The wing shape was changed from that of a delta to that of a swept tapered shape. The span of the swept wing was increased by about 10...

In the book "Douglas AD Skyraider" by Peter C. Smith (Crowood Aviation series) I found this info about AD-6 armament:
Is it true? First time I read about Bullpup-armed Skyraider. I never hear before about it, never seen any pictures or anything. Maybe it's mistake?
This atomic weapon is mentioned in Tony Buttlers' ASP: Fighers & Interceptors, as being one of the armament schemes for the Northrop N-144, amongst others. Is this, in fact, referring to Genie, or something else?
