P.V. Engineering and Piasecki Projects & Prototypes

The front fuselage looks like an attack helicopter, rather than the X49. It suggests to me the fuselage of the S67 Blackhawk but with a four bladed rotor! I know there was only one Blackhawk built, was there a mock up built as well?

I never saw that before, thanks for another website to add to my favourites.

Piasecki's greatest challenge is that they elected to remain an experimental rotorcraft research organization, and thus do not have the capability to produce a product beyond a prototype. The legal, contractual, engineering, and governmental unknowns make it improbable that any production capable OEM would be willing to agree to fund full development of a third party design. This is unfortunate as Piasecki is certainly capable of designing a functional rotorcraft.

Hi,

Thank you my dear Flateric,

and by the way, this ring-wing fighter project (in quote) was called PA.22.

From this Russian book,

they were a generic concepts, but I think that design was for Piasecki or based on it,the others maybe
for Gyrodyne and Bell ?.
