The Ju290E was a Ju290 with a panier bomb bay slung beneath the fuselage because the Ju290's wing spar prevented using an internal weapons bay. This Underslung bomb bay is very similar to the cargo pod used under Cessna C208 Caravans. I lifted this drawing and details from the Monogram Ju290 profile.

From a distance, the panier bomb bay looks like the Connie’s Speedpack !

Please note that the aforementioned document only confirms the release of production rights for these aircraft types. The documents do not indicate whether actual deliveries to Japan took place.

Had the Imperial Japanese Army Air Force remained interested in acquiring the production rights for the Ju 287, Ju 635, and Ju 248, these rights were likewise released.
