Lippisch P 03 = Messerschmitt Me 263 was a high speed rocket plane projected in june 1941
It had nothing to do with the Me 263/Ju 248 built in 1944/45
Lippisch P 06 was a tailless training monoplace projected in november 1940 with a 450 hp motor

It seems to be an original document and speaks of "tailless types" (in English), so I
suggest, that it's from a British or US source and was later used for the mentioned
book.

As strange as it may seem, the Lippisch Li P 10 was proposed as a competitor to the Messerschmitt Me 410.


Here is an original comparative arrangement of the two aircraft. Note the similar front view (except engine position), identical nose and cockpit. I have reworked the document to extract the Li P 10 on its own.

Latest update on the subject:

The above Lippisch Li P 10 project was not done in competition with Messerschmitt, but rather UNDER Messerschmitt direction.

Here is a photo of the Messerschmitt Me 265, which is exactly the same project. It was developed for comparison purposes with the Me 410 in Spring 1942 and was to reuse parts of the Me 210, but did not get beyond the mockup stage.

The Me 265 was not submitted as such. Instead, Messerschmitt offered the Me 329 early in August 1942, but the more conservative Me 410 was eventually selected by the RLM.

between Messerschmitt Me.163 and Heinkel He.162,but most of its shape tends to
Me.163,so I named it that,it was powered by a jet engine.

This is actually a kitbash model built after a drawing showing the Lippisch P.15 "Diana".

The Lippisch P.15 was a development of the Me 163 "Komet". The nose of the aircraft was taken from the He 162 and the landing gear from the Bf 109. The wings came from the Me 163, with their span being increased by the addition of air intakes in the leading edge wing roots. A single He S 011A turbojet supplied the power. Armament consisted of two Mk 108 30mm cannon in the forward fuselage sides and two MG 151/20 20mm cannon in the wing.

In the following book it is mentioned, that the cockpit / front fuselage came from the He 162, the wings from Messerschmitt Me 163C and the the rear fuselage and the landing gear from the Junkers Ju 248 / Messerschmitt Me 263.

I thought it was fake aircraft.

It's not a misprint. There were two Me 263s - the 1941 design and the 1944 design. Remember that the 1944 design was called the Ju 248 until Messerschmitt insisted that it be redesignated Me 263.

Makes sense when you think about how the rest of the RLM number block was allocated:
Me 261 long-range aircraft
Me 262 jet fighter
Me 263 Lippisch development of the Me 163 (rather than the later Junkers development of the Me 163 B )
Me 264 bomber
Me 265 heavy fighter/fast bomber
All of them from around that same 1941 period...

Here is British Pathé newsreel footage (circa 1929) of the Lippisch's tailless Storch V (RRG Storch V) which was built by the Rhon-Rossitten Society (Rhön-Rossitten Gesellschaft). Alexander Lippisch appears at the beginning of the film along with famed glider pilot Günther Groenhoff, who pilots the aircraft.

Hello, I am currently building a Lippisch P.10 on a scale of 1:72. Except for small parts, it is scratch-made. I scaled up the three-sided plan at Heinz J. Nowarra, Die deutsche Luftrüstung 1933-1945, Bernard & Graefe Verlag Koblenz.
Now my question: If the machine had been ready for series production, it would certainly not have been named P.10. Would it have been included in the Messerschmitt series, or would it have been named after Lippisch (similar to FW and Tank) and what number could it have recieved?
