Was the Matador what competed against the Gepard? I've read that a design using twin 30mm cannons was the other contender for that requirement and lost out due to the greater range of the 35mm armament.

I assume the circular hatch is where shell casings would be ejected?

Wenn das Netzteil direkt in das vorhandene Chassis eingesteckt wird, wo kommt dann die Infanterie heraus? Von oben?

Bearbeiten: Typisch. Es ist kein Truppentransporter, sondern ein Fahrzeug zur Infanterieunterstützung und zum Luftabwehrkampf.

The article is probably written by someone who can't tell a shovel from a spade. Here's a better article. It should be an anti-aircraft tank or fire support tank similar to the Gepard, only much simpler for high production volumes.
