That's a strange intake design.

That was because it is the 2-seater F-102A version and the fuse was widened and the intakes had to be changed.

It only flew subsonic because of the issues with the new intake design.

Oh, that reminds me of something else. The launch rails extend one at a time, right? Because there’s no other way it could work. If the front missile were to launch first, the rear one would be damaged. And the rear one wouldn’t be able to launch. I’ve read that the IR missile launches first, followed by the SARH version, and apparently the IR version is always loaded at the rear. So they have to extend one at a time. Right?
