Roughly, 'If you want an MPA, buy the best ... which is Poseidon ... even if it is American.'

A common enough procurement refrain. But, I suspect, an argument which makes zero sense to the average citizen in the streets of Århus or Copenhagen. All they will hear is their military advocating the hand-over of billions of kroner to those issuing threats.

Either way, I like how their concern isn't shipping being impeded in the region or the emergence of insurgent-used naval drones. No, they are afraid of the turkish navy. Why would they be afraid of their capabilities if they're both in the western camp? Hmm...

Apparently a navy 500 km to the north covering an 8,333 km coastline and contesting large Russian and Greek fleets simultaneously, is a genuine threat... XD
 
There is certainly some unease between Turkey and Israel concerning the former’s presence in Syria. But the idea of Turkey blockading Israel seems rather fanciful and a P-8 purchase seems a little ridiculous.

If Israel trills interested in P-8, I would not assume Turkey is the target, or at least the only target. P-8s are SIGINT nodes that in U.S. usage can potentially can deploy radars with a E-6/JSTARS capability. I could easily see that being beneficial, for a vast multitude of tasks. In fact, now that I think about it, P-8 is potentially a big Swiss army box of ISR and ASW and general MPA with a guaranteed development path using an airframe of commercially available parts anyone can buy. Honestly it seems like a one stop do everything for future needs, and the U.S. subsidy to Israel obviously offsets costs.

Another mod and I deleted posts that were either anti-Israeli or anti-Turkish and had nothing to do about the aircraft itself.
after this, I'm going to start implementing harsher measures such as thread bans and infractions due to repeated occurences.
 

Boeing and Northrop Grumman Successfully Simulate P-8A Poseidon and MQ-4C Triton Teaming​

The P-8A and MQ-4C executed a simulated demonstration of enhanced interoperability and manned-unmanned teaming capabilities to execute anti-surface warfare and Intelligence, Surveillance, Reconnaissance, and Targeting missions, including satellite relay to reflect realistic operational communications.

Standards-based manned-unmanned teaming
  • In the lab demonstration, a P-8A operator issued machine readable, machine actionable mission tasking to a simulated MQ-4C Triton using UCI formatted messages.
  • The P-8A cued the Triton transit to a specific area. After receiving the request, the Triton autonomously planned and executed a transit to the area, employed sensors per the tasking, processed findings onboard, and reported results back to the P-8A Poseidon.
  • Data routes included satellite relay to reflect realistic operational communications. Mission management and autonomy layers communicated via OMS/UCI rather than custom point to point interfaces.
