Blackbird: Beyond the Secret Missions

A classic book, full of fascinating details about the design and operations of the A-12, YF-12 and SR-71, with good material on peripheral matters like Soviet MiG-25 and MiG-31 and Swedish JA-37 interceptions.

The amount of new info that appears within each revision is getting smaller and smaller, but it's still an excellent book. This one goes into more detail on some of the Vietnam-era recon sorties and there are a number of new images as well. There's a whole chapter on Area 51 and life at the base for the CIA OXCART pilots. This might not be the "definitive" volume, as the two AIAA books still offer significant parts of the story, but it's pretty close and easily the ultimate iteration of Crickmore's work.
