...looking at that MG/or automatic GL/, mounted on turret's rear, both on render and on patent drawings,
it took me quite some time to figure out that it most likely depicts KMW 1530 weapon station (suitable for both MGs and AGLs) with HK 40mm AGL called "GMW" -
the same one, as depicted on Boxer mockup in 1997, and later demonstrated on Boxer prototype, and also Fennek and Dingo.
Except real KMW 1530 is obviously not remote-controlled in full sense of the word, so it's not RCWS, but what was sometimes called OWS aka owerhead weapon station;
while render and patents depict RCWS version of it.
(No way anyone could control it manually through ATGM storage box underneath it, depicted in patent, or attach seat inside, rotating along with main turret and thus defeating whole purpose of main RCWS turret;
also, Wegmann patent for NGP family of vehicles has an IFV's cutaway - which depicts, in addition to 2 crewmembers of NGP - 3rd crewmember sitting longitudinally under turret - I presume, that's a dismount operating said RCWS.)
Either artist reused assets, or may be there was some hope of unification?
