In April 1995, the Director Future Projects (Naval) released the CV(R) Concept Exploration Summary Report into the concept studies for CV(R) - previously CVSG(R) and soon to become CV(F).

These studies pre-date the circa 1997 studies I posted earlier in this thread. These all feature the Lockheed STOVL JAST proposal (part of the MoD's STOVL Strike Fighter -SSF - programme) and Merlin. A couple of these designs (26f00000 and 26f010000) also featured the F/A-18 C/D and E/F respectively with C13 catapults and US Mk.7 arrester gear.

In October 1995, further studies included a navalised EF2000(N), but without folding wings.

There were also STUFT studies undertaken by BAeSEMA, which quite rightly ruled out this option as being feasible.
It also looks like a LPH-hull variant was also looked at around this time.

For the first time in 15 years a Royal Navy fast jet squadron has been deployed at sea with 809 Naval Air Squadron joining 617 The Dambusters on Prince of Wales for a month long training deployment. There will be a two week carrier accreditation followed by a fortnight long fleet training exercise in the North Sea titled Strike Warrior.

Excellent news for the Royal Navy aircraft carrier in deploying both 809 Naval Air Squadron and 617 Dambusters on the Prince of Wales, I would not be surprised that if the RN would deploy both squadrons on an active cruise at some point in the future.

General Atomics has unveiled a new lightweight EMALs system distinct from its design on the Ford/PANG classes. As its simpler it only requires a 4ft by 2ft deck space with variable length according to the weight of aircraft to be launched. They are also considering the lightweight system for land based used for launching CCA's.

They illustrated it by showing it on Type 45, Izumo Class, QE Class and us Expeditionary Sea Base class ships.

I was reading about EMCAT/EMKIT, the MoD comissioned EM catapult and arrestor system. Several articles available such as https://library.imarest.org/record/8058?v=pdf
Seems to have been successful at trials - over 2500 launches. Such a pity it was cast aside.

I've only just discovered the Save The Royal Navy website and I'm finding it an excellent resource for the latest on RN projects. If you miss Richard Beedall's Navy Matters then you should give it a look!
I try to enter to this link and nothing happens. But I find this one:

Will it be the same?

Artist's impression of BAE Systems CTOL concept 2001.

Artist's impression of CTOL CVF concept, date unknown.

Sources:

The 'date unknown' CTOL concept appears to be the 26 aircraft CTOL concept from the 'Warship '97 International Symposium: Air Power at Sea' conference paper. The flight deck and island arrangement are an almost exact match, the elevators in the artists impression can just be made out at the same locations as on the deck plan and the truncated starboard sponson ahead of the bridge is both prominent and near identical between the artists impression and the deck plan.

This was some kind of maximum capability variant, I suppose - 340-350m deck, 4 elevators, 3 catapults.

It is somewhat different from regular large carriers, in that it is relatively long and narrow, as if designed for especially high speed operation.

Is there any other information about this variant, besides this image? Other views, any technical details?

UPD: Dear moderators, of course, I know this plan was featured here, because I have taken it from here, and in opening a new thread I wanted to emphasize the interest in details for this specific design of the study.
