Servus Maveric

Thank you Maveric,

And do you have a picture to M.7/A.VII three seat sporting aircraft.

Thank you my dear Apophenia,

and from the site you mentioned;

A VIII was a project, developed from A VII and powered by 40 hp Salmson
engine,and had estimated speed of 144 km/h.

Thanks Hesham, I'd meant to mention the A.VIII. The engine reference is obviously to the Salmson 9AD but the "29,4 kW (40 PS)" rating is odd. The 3 Litre 9AD is usually rated at 45 hp @ 2000 rpm.

BTW: Wilhelm van Nes went to work for Arado before being picked up as part of 'Project Paperclip'. Ob.-Ing. Erich Meindl went to WNF. Another view of the M-15 is attached.

Meindl M 150 « Schulmeister » twin-boom light aircraft

The Meindl M 150 Schulmeister ("school teacher") prototype of 1956 was a German development by Burgfalke-Segelflugzeugbau Burglengenfeld/Bayern of the earlier Meindl M 15.

Any additional information on this little-known type would be appreciated!

The Meindl-van Nes A XV (M15)

The Project originated in cooperation Meindl and van Nes during 1937-38.

After the construction of the joint factory in in Wiener Neustadt. Construction started in January 1939. Meindl, was project manager of the ongoing construction. Maiden flight was on 23 September 1940, registration D-ECAB, by pilot Sylvester Wanneck.

This aeroplane type was the first front wheel machine in Germany (post-Anschluss, previously Austria).

Wiener Neustadt WNF Wn 16

Formerly called the Meindl-van Nes A XV, the design was designated the Wiener Neustadt WNF Wn 16 by the Germans in 1942.

It was built by hand and tested by the Flugprobung and joined some other new designs created with the then new nosewheel (eg Me 262, Ar234, He219) for evaluation.

Designers:

Ob-Ing. Erich Meindl born 22 December 1906 in Klagenfurt, died 29 February 1980 in Bochum.

Dipl-Eng Wilhelm van Nes born 26 September 1900 in Freiburg im Breisgau, died 13 May 1979 in Waldkirch (Freiburg im Breisgau)

Thanks Cy-27! But it doesn't shed any light on how the project ended up in the form of the twin-boom M 150 prototype built in Germany...

...further development of the Meindl van Nes after the war at Burgfalke-Flugzeugbau in Burglengenfeld bei Regensburg in Bavaria. This was the M.150. First flight 14 September 1957 with the registration D-EKOH. Intended as a training aircraft, with the nose wheel had the same characteristics as the contemporary larger commercial airliners. A second machine was to be built in Vienna in order of Dr Josef Lenz (under construction - not completed?).

No indication in the text of how the WNF Wn 16 ended up as the M.150.

Excellent my dear Maveric,

many thanks, and do you know any thing about M.110,I heard that it was
the basis for M.211,is that right ?.

You are right: R-110 was the designation for Wimmer (Germany) , and M 211 for Meindl (Austria)

Here , the R-100 and the R-110 :

This text seems to have been inspired by an article in "Der Flieger" of the seventies ,where the designation actually was R-100 and R-110 …In the recent book by Keimel about Meindl , the designation is R- too.

Hi Richard,
I'm curious, what book is that? Is it Luftfahrzeugbau in Österreich or another book specifically about Meindl?
Adrien

with anther one,and also please change the title here.

If there was an earlier series, from A.I to A.VI,does anyone know it ?.

The 3-views looks much like the Guritzer-van Nes A II (registration A30).
Guritzer crashed to death piloting it on the 28.9.1932 .
van Nes worked later with Meindl

Thank you my dear Richard, but what about the other designs,A.I,A.IV,A.V and A.VI ?.

A III was the Meindl-van Nes M3 , A VII : the M7 & M12 , A VIII : the M8 and A XV : the M15 .
