I spy a MAS-H-022N (the original early 1990s Mach 10 cruiser, ancestor of DF-7/9 and X-43) scale model in the last three pictures, never seen one of that configuration before (see here).

Edit: On closer look at the two later pictures I think its actually the 022I variant (based on rear control surface configuration).

I wonder if these older engineers/model makers/scientists sadly look back at what might have been.

It looks like two more pictures were added? What I can ID, clockwise from bottom left:
1. Mostly looks like a very crude variant of Lockheed SR-72 designs?
2. Can't quite identify this though looks somewhat familiar, anyone have ideas?
3. McDonnell Douglas MAS-H-022I Mach 10 cruiser.
4. Boeing X-51A.
5. McDonnell Douglas hypersonic boost-glide vehicle from late 1960s (same model as this one?) Also in the first picture.
6. X-30 Copper Canyon duPont baseline with added canards.
7. Boeing X-51 again.
8. German Sänger 2/Horus TSTO (is this the Revell model actually?)
9. McDonnell Douglas Model 176/FDL-7 variant (and on the poster on the wall which also appears here).
