Some civil projects from the LFG, which was founded in 1908 (The names often given to their a/c and
projects were taken from well-known german baths, or islands and peninsulas):

V 14 Binz : Pre-study from 1922 for the later realised V20 Arkona, mixed-construction low-wing aircraft.
Length 11 m, span 17 m, empty weight 1.400 kg, payload 650 kg, one Maybach Mb IVa with 260 hp.

V 27 Demmin: Wooden construction for two pilots and four passengers. Length 8.85, one BMW IIIa engine
with 185 hp. Regarded as too small (compared to the Junkers F 13) and so not proceeded with.

LFG Stettin: Project for a twin eingined floatplane for two pilots and ten passengers, principally an enlarged
version of the V20 Arkona with a widened fuselage (for 4 pax abreast), powered by two Benz Bz IIIa engines
with 185 hp each.

LFG Rügen: Project for a large flying boat for two pilots and fifteen passengers, Length 13.65 m, span 28 m,
empty weight 2.900 kg, payload 1.700 kg, two Maybach Mb IVa with 260 hp.
The question remains, how this project would have achieved a payload 24% better (or double the number of
passengers) with the same engines, as the proven Dornier Gs.I.

My dear Jemiba,

http://www.secretprojects.co.uk/forum/index.php/topic,10889.msg102490.html#msg102490

As mentioned before, the FFG was founded in 1906 and was building blimps of the Parseval type
at first. 1909 the Flugmaschinen-Wright-Gesellschaft (Flight apparatus Wright company) in Berlin-
Adlershof was bought and the construction of modern aircraft was started in 1912 under the label
"Roland". Apart from theses teypes other types were produced under license. So, maybe for the
search for projects, "Roland" could be a useful keyword. In the mentioned book only civil aircraft
from 1919 are dealt with, but there may well be projects from the time before.

@ hesham: Thanks, have merged those topics, maybe another glitch of our search function, or an
occasional absentmindeness from my side ?

From Aviatik magazine,

here is a patent to LFG amphibian aircraft, with retractable landing gear.

The projects MD14, MD15 and ME8 were mentioned in Heinz Nowarra's 1959 Die Entwicklung der Flugzeuge 1914-1918 (pp. 34-35), with the following details:

MD14

Engine: Benz, 195 hp
Dimensions:
span: 13,55 m
length: 8,12 m
height: 3,20 m
Max. speed: 160 km/h
Range: 770 km

MD15

Engine: Mercedes, 260 hp
Dimensions:
span: 11,95 m
length: 7,49 m
height: 3,35 m
Weights:
empty: 950 kg
loaded: 1385 kg
Max. speed: 165 km/h
Climb: 5500 m in 30 min
Range: 580 km

ME8

Engine: BMW, 200 hp
Dimensions:
span: 13,50 m
length: 9,35 m
height: 3,10 m
Weights:
empty: 1000 kg
loaded: 1470 kg
Max. speed: 165 km/h
Climb: 3000 m in 35 min
Range: 660 km

Attention: details in this over 60 years old book are not always reliable!

MD and ME were certainly factory designations (probably Militär Doppeldecker and Militär Eindecker). No other are known in this series.

Thank you my dear Tuizentfloot,

and as I know there was LFG W and W1,what is the difference ?.
