Beech Model 73, from Putnam's 'Beech Aircraft', pp. 111-112.

Excellent! And the mystery Allison jet engine is identified as a turbojet version of the turboshaft T-38! This is the first I've heard of that.

It seems likely to be the Allison 520-C-1 mentioned here:

520-C-1. This projected turbojet version of the T38 has a design thrust of 1,870 lb with an sfc of 0.927 lb/hr/lb. Production awaits a Navy trainer or target application.

Is assymetric thrust much of an issue on small twin-engined jet trainers?
