I did some random calculations, with 460 seconds isp the two stages can have relatively low propellant mass fractions (0.80 or lower) and still deliver a payload. Well btw that was the Shuttle circa 1969, before the OMB cuts.

I was never directly involved in any asymmetrical TSTO RLV studies (horror & heresy!) at Boeing, or any of my other previous German employers for that matter, but I was aware of some related work at Boeing - I always thought of it as some kind of Hunchback of Notre Dame like travesty...

Sadly not much. While I have extensive copies and notes, the DM Archive was very specific and asked me not to post the raw copies. Therefore, I worked with the DM archive, Airbus Heritage and NASA to get permissions to publish the images in the article.

If you have specific questions then I would be happy to have a look whether I can find the answer. Like with Lambrecht's working history. You can see in the TSR article which subsets of folders and content I used. Of course I read and studied more but we talking here about 100+ folders and 8000+ pages.

I saw that Boeing designed a later and similar "hunchback" compared to the RT-8. It made me wonder how much Boeing knew about the Junkers designs. United Aircraft was certainly very aware of what Junkers was doing.

PS: More a topic for another thread but here are two more of these RT-8 like concepts. While I know Junkers received input via Sänger including on American concepts, it is a fascinating question on who was influencing who and when exactly.
