I would not think that China would buy the KA-52 to only copy it, more or less they would use it like what mokahete says and use it for the LHDs that makes more sense.
Agreed, China would buy 48 to actively use.

But with how they're growing the PLAN Marines (and everything else), they'd need more than 48 to support the Marines, even with only ~6 per LHA. The USMC has 190 AH-1Zs, for comparison. That's why I'm leaning towards being the support for a couple of Mountain Warfare brigades.

Also at the risk of making me unpopular again, but don't we want to at least wait to see if something is delivered at all, before, as so often, a pointless discussion about wild speculations goes on for pages?

Quite Deino, it will be interesting to see what happens in the Chinese Ka-52 saga to see where it ends up that is if they buy any at all.

@Deino I understand your rationale but disagree. Some us come here to speculate and discourse on aviation subjects. It has provided me an opportunity to learn any number of things from my fellow aviation denizens.

Sure. I thought this was a relatively new thing, not dating clear back to 2021.

Exclusive footage of the Ka-52M crew's combat performance, which destroyed 25 enemy UAVs in two combat sorties.

Destroying 14 UAVs in the first sortie and landing another 11 in the second is certainly a world record, and the crew deserves state awards, despite the 30mm projectiles they received, equipped with remote-controlled fuses, which allow them to destroy aerial targets most effectively!

Judge for yourself how much the Ka-52M's firepower has increased in terms of aerial target destruction, but as long as we have guys like Captain E, the crew commander, and Senior Lieutenant K, the navigator/operator, we are INVINCIBLE!
...
The aviation world was thrilled by the news of the combat use of a 30mm projectile with a remotely controlled fuse!!!

Of course, this isn't "overkill" in the fight against enemy UAVs, and there aren't as many of these munitions as we'd like. But these projectiles have begun to be deployed on Ka-52Ms from air defense alert units, significantly increasing the helicopters' combat effectiveness against stealthy, low-flying aerial targets.

But be that as it may, the most important thing in the aviation industry is the people—the pilots and navigators, with pen and map, forge our Victory!!!

Yes, a little history lesson. Our forefathers actively used the FZ-23 GSh (a 23mm projectile for the GSh cannon with an anti-balloon projectile equipped with a highly sensitive fuse) in the fight against the MRSh.

Concludes the report.
Not APKWS, an airburst round. Interesting way to boost their air defense capabilities.
