on the second picture it was an art of the fouga 209 not the 195 according to french secretprojects 2 book
 
Does anyone know the avionics setup like com, nav and iff of the IAI Tzukit, which was an advanced version of Fouga Magister?

Thanks for the photos. The Cyclone had to be renamed the Sylphe after Curtiss-Wright requested a change to avoid confusion with their own Cyclone engines.

Seemed odd that C-W would even be aware of the type, but it transpires that in early 1950 the first airframe, F-WFOI, had embarked on a tour of the USA.

Makalu is not the turbojet, its the aircraft itself. MA-kalu = MA-gister (I suppose)
This is a funny interpretation, but I don't think it's the right one.:D

Mount Makalu, the fifth highest peak in the world, culminating at 8,485 m, was first climbed in 1955. Among the victorious members of this expedition was André Vialatte, who headed the engine section of the DTI (French State Aeronautical Technical Services). This expedition earned him the nickname "Makalu" in flight testing circles.When Fouga equipped his aircraft with the largest engines available, the Gabizo, to climb to high altitudes, they named this test aircraft Makalu, a nod to Vialatte. ;)

Many years ago, I had the opportunity to meet André Vialatte personally and I spoke about him in my book on Leduc and the one on the Griffon. He was a very pleasant person and passionate about both aviation and mountaineering. He was highly respected in the aviation industry and in the flight testing circle.

No offense, the post date back from 2008 and I have no clue in the entire known Universe why I wrote that - nor the meaning of it. :D

I don't want to offense anybody. I just took the opportunity to expose an anecdote somewhat forgotten since that time.
