Hi everyone, I stumbled upon this piece of info in the Centurion Main Battle Tank Manual:

Does anyone have more info on and maybe drawings of this engine? And do you know about any modifications approved during the Centurion Mk 7 program that were never applied, like the Action X mantletless turret?

The action X turret is at the Tank museum Bovingdon

Expanding the scope of this thread a trifle:
Historical Background:

In the late 1980’s the Swedish defense materiel administration (FMV) investigated the possibility of extending the life of its then current armored fleet of Centurions and S-tanks for the 1990’s battlefield.

This had become necessary as development or procurement of a modern MBT for the armored brigades was not likely to be completed until the early 2000’s. The main goal of the study was however to provide an updated 2nd line type tank for the mechanized brigades.

Two projects would result from this, one for an upgraded S-tank known as Strv 103D and the other an updated Centurion known as Strv 105. Several test vehicles were built for the Strv 103D as well as a single prototype for the Strv 105. The Strv 105 was in many ways an upgraded strv 104. The tank kept the applique armor and reworked Engie deck introduced with the Strv 104 but further improved mobility and night fighting capabilities.
