These drawings are mistaken especially for the Re.2005 and Re.2004 (the rear fuselage is too short for Re.2005 and).

Is that true ?,

As for the project called Re.2007 (or Caproni Reggiane Re.2008) with the swept wing, it seems to be made "on the basis" of the American and Soviet fighters of the late 1940s.

It seems obvious that this design was developed for an engine smaller than the Jumo. Such an engine could only be available to the Italians much later than 1944.

This development probably refers to the years 1949-50; but for some legal and/or market reason, it was necessary to "redraw" it, indicating a much earlier date. One possible reason has a name: Re.2008. This swept-wing fighter project was developed by Eng. Longhi in the United States in 1947-48 with the technical support of the Cornell Aeronautical Laboratory, where there was a high-speed wind tunnel, which was not available in Italy at the time.

Obviously, Longhi intended to start production of the Re.2008 in Europe after Reggiane resumed its normal production and commercial operations.
