Early european rocketry projects

The French launch there french satellite "Asterix" with french DIamant A from former French colony Algeria.
On 26 November 1965 around 11 months after launch of San Marco 1 by Italy...

There was a medium launcher project proposed by the LRBA in 1971 and called Obelix. The first stage, 2 m in diameter and equipped with a Viking engine, was supposed to carry 33 tons of propellant. The second stage was to be P6 of MSBS M2 missile, and the third stage was to be P1.8 developed for the Hyper Diamant project.

The Scott Manley video is titled "The Third Country To Build an Orbital Rocket", which defines the perspective without ambiguity. He wasn't talking about the third country to launch a satellite.

If we're talking about the third country to launch a satellite, that would be the UK, with Ariel 1 on 26 April 1962, followed by Canada (also 1962) and Italy in 1964.

I have to say I'm shocked about this, even more so, because this is my amla mater....

Back than, the VKA institute. (Verbrennungskraftmaschinen Aachen) had a great collection in their libery too. I could see old MTZ from the wartime (everything was about aero engines)which were printed on four different papers (you had to use whatever you could get)...

It seems to be authored by Kurt Reiniger. He refers to an aerodynamic "flying V" plus fitting wedge stages as basis
and inspiration for an European mini shuttle on top of EUROPA III.
The ideas seem to be based on the period 1965 to 1969 and his earlier work.

The folder also has an opinion piece by the same K. Reiniger on "NASA Space Shuttle" dated October 1th 1969.
That piece is about 7 different ideas for the Space Shuttle with 1, 1.5 and 2 stages, ballistic to reusable.
It also has a reference to a Bölkow design (February 1965) of a wedge inside a V where
the V is the first stage and the wedge the second stage.

This "V" plus wedge is a type of design that I have not seen before but maybe there is more Bölkow information out there? Anyone?

I guess this could be this junkers concept reuse as they became MBB in 1969.
