"In the mid 30’s, Caproni began work on the next evolution of the Ca.97 series designs to meet a Regia Aeronautica requirement for a high-speed reconnaissance aircraft. Apart from the new engine and the synchronized machinegun, the Ca.127 was little different from its predecessors - it retained the shoulder-mounted wing, fixed landing gear, four defensive guns, and mixed construction. For the reconnaissance role, it was fitted with a camera controlled from the cockpit. Taking flight in 1935, the Ca.127 proved to be a failure. The archaic design was incapable of meeting Regia Aeronautica requirements, and thus was rejected."

Caproni Ca.40 was a prototype of Caproni Ca.41 and Ca.42.

http://www.theaerodrome.com/aircraft/italy/caproni_ca4.php
”The first triplane of this series was designated the Ca.40. It lacked power and only three were built. The next triplane in the series was the Ca.41 which had bigger engines and an improved fuselage. The final triplane in the series, the Ca.42, featured additional modifications to the fuselage and was equipped with a variety of engines ranging from 270 hp Isotta Fraschinis to 400 hp Liberty engines. Of thirty-two Ca.42s manufactured in 1918, six of them were used by the Royal Naval Air Service.”

Radiator shape is interesting.

Hi! Caproni Ca.48.

http://www.airwar.ru/enc/cw1/ca48.html
"Considering that the increase in passenger capacity can achieve more success company Aeronautica began the alteration of the Caproni passenger aircraft heavy bombers-triplanov Ca. 42. The first aircraft was ready in early 1919 year and received the designation Ca. 48.
The aircraft was equipped with, as well as on its predecessor, the three engines of the Liberty L-12 rated at 400 HP Specificity layout engines forced designers to place passengers on two decks-17 passengers could be accommodated in an enclosed cabin, and another 6 in the open sveržu of the fuselage.
The plane was first shown on airspace salon in Amsterdam in the summer of 1919 onwards. The plane caused a great interest, but the commercial benefit from this exercise could not be reached for comment. Already on August 2 when flying from Milan Ca. 48 crashed over Verona. All 12 passengers and both pilots were killed.
This tragedy became was the first plane crash in the history of Italy and one of the very first among passenger heavier than air aircraft in aviation history.
As a result, Italy originated wave of distrust to passenger aircraft at the base of the bombers, as well as the General Directorate of Aeronautics was disbanded. Only much later could figure out that the accident occurred due to dropped from a passenger hand cameras in propeller aircraft."

Hi! Ca.60.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FoUaN5WB8_M

Hi!
http://jn.passieux.free.fr/html/Caproni_Ca3.php
"The belief that the British and the Germans with their Handley Page and Gotha were the first to make extensive use of aircraft for bombing missions, is still widely shared. In fact, Italians and Russians did evolve devices to perform such operations before the start of the first world war and Italian aircraft Caproni (*) Ca.2 distant bombing missions against the armies of Austria-Hungary had done well before the first flight of a Handley Page O/100. Almost all of this range Caproni had three engines, they can be grouped in a conventional manner following their military designation but it must appeal to the nomenclature of the manufacturer to identify the variants of each type.

The first Caproni of large size was the Ca.30 of 1913 which was at the origin of future developments. There was a central nacelle and two beams of fuselage bearing elements of tail, the crew and the three engines being placed in the basket. A 90 HP Curtiss engine caused the pusher located at the rear of the car while two Gnome rotary engines caused the tractive propellers placed on the front of the beams through drive shafts. This provision proved to be unsuited to operations and the Ca.31, who flew in late 1914, was located in front of the beams and related directly to the propellers Gnome engines.

The first major production version was the Ca.32, which was given the military designation Ca.2 (Ca.31 being the Ca.1). This biplane was fitted with engines Fiat A-10 of 100 leading all tractive propeller CV online. This aircraft was produced 164 copies between 1914 and 1916, a machine of this type was the first to perform an Italian bombing mission against the Austo-Hungarian end August 1915.
This device was used in the recent times for night operations, until the arrival of the Ca.33 (Ca.3) in 1917. The Ca.33, broadly similar to the Ca.32, had wings of similar scope, a pod shaped box and three mounted polygonal derivatives above the rear horizontal plane. Special attention had been given to safety during takeoffs and landings from uneven land with the installation of skates under the tail and the ends of the wings and additional wheels at the front of the nacelle to avoid a reversal. The two pilots were placed side by side in the center of the basket, with an observer/gunner in the front part of the cockpit with a Revelli machine gun or a cannon. The rear gunner was placed in a comfortable way, in a metal cage placed at the level of the upper tier and directly above the pusher. The Ca.33 engines were an Isotta-Fraschini V.4B 150 CV online.

This model was built about 270 copies between 1916 and 1918. These machines equipped a dozen squadrons of the Corpo Aeronautica Militare and an Italian naval squadron in Albania. Others, built under license by Esnault-aircraft served with two squadrons of French military Aviation. Several Ca.33 were still in service at the time of the Armistice.

Variants of the basic Ca.33 were the Ca.34 (without front wheels), Ca.35 (oval Central nacelle with placed drivers in tandem), the Ca.36 (with external sections of detachable wings), the Ca.36S (ambulance) and Ca.37 (small wings). The Ca.39 was a seaplane with a huge central float, but this machine was not built. This series of machines was followed Ca.4 models, then later Ca.5."

So, Ca.30 : Prototype, Ca.31 = Ca.1, Ca.32 = Ca.2, Ca.33 = Ca.3

"CAPRONI Ca. 4
At the end of 1916-th Caproni has created perhaps the most extravagant airplane 1-St world war. Having the aim to dramatically increase the bomb load of cars, he found another modification of its bomber more powerful 200-strong, Fiat motors. And to compensate for the increased take-off weight, added a third wing.

As we have informed, it was a period of universal hobbies triplanami-Caproni but the only one who has managed to develop and, most importantly, "bring to mind" heavy mnogomotornyj plane of such a scheme. All other projects never went beyond prototype stage, and giant triplane Ca. 40 produced serially and participated in military flights.

The construction of Ca. 40 was generally the same as the previous machines Caproni: wooden frame with linen covering. Novelty became eight bogies of the chassis and the large bomb container, placed in the Centre of the lower wing no gondola. Bomb it hung vertically. 5 man crew: 2 pilots and 3 arrow.

In early 1917 the 5th appeared slightly improved sample Ca. 41 with more narrow, streamlined nacelle and the tandem arrangement of pilots. The peak of development of the type became Ca. 42, on which the Caproni has established the most powerful at that time, the 400-strong American engines. "Liberty", the largest bomb load the aircraft had no equal in the Allied aviation. In 1917-m built only 3 serial bomber-triplana and another 20 next year.

High loading capacity Ca. 42 (military designation-Ca. 4) drew the attention of the English maritime command. For the British naval aviation was purchased 6 machines were in service until the end of 1918. The remaining two were used by the Italian bombardirovočnymi èskadril′âmi. Since the huge plane seemed to have represented an excellent target for enemy guns, Ca. 4 almost always flown on jobs at night.

Besides the already mentioned, several modifications were double girder electric traveling triplanov Caproni: torpedo Sa: 43, Ca. 51 with biplannym plumage as well as Ca. 48, Ca. 52, Ca. 58 and Ca. 59-unarmed transport planes. All was built more than 40 airplanes family Ca. 4."

And Ca.5.

"Variants
Ca.44 - main production version, originally powered by three Fiat A.12 engines of 149 kW (200 hp) each, hence the name Caproni 600 hp. Later, the A-12bis was used, and aircraft so equipped were known as Caproni 600/900 hps
Ca.45 - variant selected for French service, powered by three Isotta Fraschini V.6s of 186 kW (250 hp) each. (Caproni 600/750 hp, or simply Caproni 750 hp)
Ca.46 - late-war variant with three 269 kW (360 hp) Liberty engines.
Ca.47 - (or I.Ca) seaplane version of Ca.44 (ten built)
Ca.50 - Ca.44s modified as air ambulances
Ca.57 - (or Breda M-1) - airliner conversion of war-surplus Ca.44s."

Hi! Ca.60 model.
You can see pilot/co-pilot open cockpit at the nose of the aircraft.
Also you can see front four engine flight engineer seat at the midddle engine nacelle.
Radiators for front four engines are located front of each engine.
Perhaps oil coolers are located between front upper wing and front middle wing.
You can see rear left side and right side pusher engine radiators at upper side of the middle rear wing.
Rear middle two engine radiator are located front of the engine nacelle.

I feel Ca.60 rapid nose up and rapid nose down tendency just after take off in RC model flight video.
Did Dr.Caproni scale model flying test prior to Ca.60 first flight?
All of the Ca.60 design were unique, wing combination, cockpit, engine position, separated beam, etc...
The crew comprised 2 pilots and 6 engineers. 6 engineers are 2 flight engineers, 1 navigator, 1 radio operator, 2...... ???

has anyone a drawing or a more info about Caproni GDL aircraft ?.

The GDL was designed by Generale Gugliemetti e Ing Lamberto De Luca,it was high-wing
ambulance monoplane and powered by one HM508D or CNA VIIIRC10 engine,built by the
Caproni Predappio in September 1943.

And this airplane was involved in STOL light aircraft competition,which Avis C.4 and

"The Caproni Ca.97 was a civil utility aircraft produced in Italy in the late 1920s and early 1930s. As originally designed, it was a high-wing braced trimotor monoplane of conventional configuration with one engine mounted in the nose and the other two carried in strut-mounted nacelles at the fuselage sides. Examples were also produced with only the nose engine or only the two nacelle-mounted engines(I can't find any picture of this type.).

Hi Ca.121.
http://alternathistory.com/italyanskie-bumazhnye-proekty-skorostnoi-bombardirovshchik-caproni-ca-121
Auto translation
"RA that in 1932 engineer Gianni Caproni, in collaboration with the engineer Antonio Carati (Antonio Caratti) Ca 121 was a high-speed bomber monoplane. The planned plane was supposed to have a svobodnonesushhee wing and mixed design, included interesting technological solutions, cutting-edge technology and otvechavshuju the most modern technical requirements at the time. Among the distinctive features was elliptical in terms of wing a significant elongation (more than 9), which was typical for both projects developed jointly by Caproni and Karattti and developed Carati yourself.
In addition to the reporting in this article of the aircraft in the period from 1932 to 1934 years they had developed ten projects (all monoplany), some of which have reached the stage of prototype construction. All of them are listed below (note that the abbreviation b and S are, respectively, to the scale and wing surface):
• Ca. 112: Ca. 111 with Wing type Carati (b = 27.7 m, S = 85 m ²);
• Ca 117: high-rise plane (b = 25.6 m, S = 87.5 m ²);
• Ca. 118: Ca. 102 with the wing type Carati (b = 28 m, S = 85 m ²);
• Ca. 120: trehmotornyj bomber, manufactured prototype (b = 27.8 m, S = 92.36 m ²);
• Ca. 122: twin-engined transport aircraft, manufactured prototype (b = 26 m, S = 85 m ²);
• Ca. 123: twin-engined passenger aircraft, a development of Ca. 122, but instead of a V-shaped engines Isotta-Fraschini water-cooling 12R radial engines were installed Gnome-Rhòne 14 West Columbia; manufactured prototype (b = 26 m, S = 85 m ²);
• Ca. 124: single-engined Scout and bomber (b = 19 m, S = 40 m ²) developed both stabilized baht aircraft ground with retractable landing gear and float seaplane version, prototype manufactured in the last configuration;
• Ca. 130: twin-engine seaplane dvuhpoplavkovyj-torpedo bomber with I.F. Asso 750 R.C. (b = 27.86 m, S = 85 m ²);
• Ca. 131: trehmotornyj bomber and colonial transport aircraft with two engines Jupiter IV and a Piaggio Stella IX made prototype (b = 27.9 m, S = 94.62 m ²);
• Ca. 132: trehmotornyj colon industrial transport aircraft with three engines, Piaggio Stella IX R.C., manufactured prototype (b = 27.85 m, S = 85 m ²).
A further characteristic of Ca. 121 was using separate booths for two crew members. This decision, although consistent with placement of foreign aircraft crew in the corresponding destination (u.s. single ground attack aircraft the Curtiss A-8, A-10 and A-12 Shrike and twin-engine bombers Martin (Model 139) B-10, B-12 and B-14, as well as British single Vickers Wellesley bombers) was taken independently and was not an imitation.
To achieve the best possible review forward and down the cockpit was located directly behind the engine at the front edge of the wing, while the Bombardier cab-arrow was located halfway between the rear edge of the wing and tail feathers.
The purpose of this comparison was to use the intermediary space between the two cabins to accommodate different types of bombosbrasyvatelej depending on the types of goals. The second cabin was equipped with a machine gun for protection in the up-back ", while the second, slightly noticeable defensive stance, housed inside the fuselage immediately behind the trailing edge of the wing. The gun was intended to protect aircraft in Gaza "down-back".
It is likely that the planned installation of at least one machine gun (with the same Ammo) in the fuselage, or in one of the parts of the wing-shooting "kill" through the ometanija area of the screw.
Wing profile had to be asymmetric dvojakovypuklym with large relative thickness (26.5% in root parts and 12.5% in endings). The wing was supposed to have a wooden construction with plywood covering.
The power set of the fuselage was to consist of lattice truss made of steel pipes; as a covering aluminum sheets would be used.
Tailplane was supposed to consist of steel tubes, sheeting was to become otlakirovannoe. The stabilizer must have had in-flight adjustable angle of attack.
Powerplant Ca. 121 was supposed to consist of one dvenadcaticilindrovogo the V-shaped engine Isotta Fraschini-cooled Asso XI R.C. Engine had to be equipped with gear and compressor and rotate gyaan Gurung metal screw with adjustable step on Earth and a diameter of 3.3 meters.
CA. 121 was developed in two versions: with neubirajushhimisja the main uprights and radomes chassis with retractable inside the main wing struts with a drive from the cockpit. The second option would significantly improved aircraft aerodynamics and aircraft could provide significant benefits. With equal load of diesel compared to more traditional horizontal speed option would increase to 10%, range-18%, and time-to-height 5000 meters has decreased by about 15% would be. Flight characteristics of the aircraft could be increased by equipping machines more powerful engine (in-line water-cooled) and screw with adjustable in flight, and with constant speed.
Like many other prospective projects concern Caproni bomber, Ca. 121 had not advanced beyond the stage of experimentation with the model 1:23 scale, conducted in August and September 1932 onwards in the Rome Office of research and wind tunnel tests of the Ministry of aviation (Direzione degli Studi e delle Esperienze del Ministero dell'Aeronautica). However, when viewed in the context of the overall review of the level of development of aeronautical engineering of those years, we can say that this project remains an interesting example of the creativity of Italian engineers.

Hi Ca.53.
http://flyingmachines.ru/Site2/Crafts/Craft25709.htm
"In 1917 the Technical Direction of Military Aviation asked for a fast bomber with a Fiat A.14 engine, capable of carrying a 400 kg bomb load at speeds around 200 km per hour. The Caproni design, later labelled Ca.53, had a big wooden fuselage and triplane wings. Performance estimates were not met, in part because the A.14 was replaced with a heavier 450 hp Tosi V-12. Committed to Ca.5 production, the company could not support a full development effort and the project was abandoned. The sole prototype is now with the Caproni Museum."
