Hi all,

once again a question about Caproni...
I don´t know project or not, but I search for pics or drawings of the following early Caproni aircraft Ca.52/Ca.54/Ca.55/Ca.78(sure project)/Ca.81(sure project)/Ca.88(real aircraft) and Ca.110(project).

Thanks Maveric

mm, maybe I have something, but I have to check. The late 20s aren't my favourite period.

Preliminary answer:
Ca.52: a minor variant of the Ca.51. Same engines.
Ca.88 one of the several variants of the Ca.3-Ca.80 family. Two I.F.Asso 500. Weight 5700 Kgs, Span 25 mts, lenght 15.20 Mts. Max speed 195 Kmh/h, ceiling 5500 mts.

Caproni Ca.52
From: Caproni bombers in World War I - Paul Miano - Macchione Editor

The British Government requested the Italian authorities a few copies of the bomber triplane Caproni Ca 42
in order to evaluate it.
Caproni built 6 airplane designated Ca.52. Differed from the Italian model for mt. Lewis paired in the front seat of the fuselage and a spaceship for bombs sizes suitable for the British.
Machines received the serial RNAS from N526 to N531 and were used briefly by No. 6 Squadron in Otranto (Italy) and then returned to Italy.

Ahem, the correct name is "Paolo Miana".... I known him, nice guy.

Hi

I am interrested in Breda but has also a question which has to do with Caproni.
Its concerning the Pensuti-Caproni, the little 1919 triplane.
Now I found (the same or a new plane) the Breda-Pensuti.
The Pensuti-Caproni was powered by a 3 cylinder Anzani and the Breda-Pensuti by a 6 cylinder Anzani radial
What can you tell me, what do you have??
My interrests are: history/drawings/dimensions (as much as possible)/pictures/colors, but also construction details (and pictures/drawings which gives these details) technical information etc.
Thank for your help
Jan

Here is a photo which I found somewhere. (If I remember correctly, I found it at one of Russian modelling forums, where somebody asked for identification...) Looks much similar to this Breda-Pensuti, but with some differences... Anybody knows what is it?

This one is the Ricci Triplane R6, now on show at the Museo della scienza e della tecnica in Milan;
its concept was very similar to the Pensuti's, and the first of the series flew in 1918, near Naples.
The Ricci brothers also designed some very interesting projects, likea gull-wing hidroplaneproject

Thanks ermeio,

do you have more info´s about the Ricci brothers? And their planes and projects.

Thanks for the pictures/drawings of the Pensuti's.
Do you have from the L+K article the history?
Has there been one or two Pensuti's (single seater)?
What do you haven concerning the used colors?
Again thanks,
Jan
ps. do you have information concerning other Breda planes?

Ahem, fellows, remember, not (too much) sponging here....

I've opened a new thread about the Ricci Bros.
As regards the Pensuti triplanes, there wereat least 9 of them:
four versions of the first triplane and five of the second one, of which you can see a photo in this thread.

Hi,

Ca.330 was twin engined light recce and bomber aircraft project, never went beyond
a mock-up stage,let to develop the Ca.331.

Ca.331A was twin engined light recce and bomber aircraft, powered by two 770 hp
Isotta-Fraschini Delta R.C.40 engines.

Ca.331B was a three seat twin engined night fighter version, powered by two 840 hp
Delat IV engines.

All Caproni aircraft from CA 1 to CA 116 are now presented in a separate topic in three-view form with info and specs (in Italian for now, but hopefully translations will be added in time):

I think we have quite a few specific topics on Caproni types on this forum, so it's best to keep this here topic for unidentified designs I think. Perhaps a mod could rename this one as "Various Caproni aircraft" or "Unidentified Caproni designs", something like that?

Also I'd like to remind everyone that we have two other general topics on "early" Caproni aircraft which have plenty of pictures in them, if you seek to identify a certain type...

Designation Systems > Caproni aircraft
