Germans had little reason to build such things. For what, direct travel to USA? To colonies? It was not economically feasible and there was little chance to sell their products to the French or British who had their own big flying boats.

Edit: I forgot to mention Dornier Do X, largest flying boat of the era. It was ultimately a financial failure, and not just because of the Great Depresion.
