Actually I don't see any pic. Can you upload say to https://imgbb.com/Apologies for the picture quality.
Art from Syd Mead was everywhere
Isn't this artwork actually showing Lockheed's ASTOVL/CALF/JAST?Lockheed Steathly ATF
Nope.Isn't this artwork actually showing Lockheed's ASTOVL/CALF/JAST?
This is Lockheed ASTOVL Configuration 100 to my knowledge. Any corrections?Nope.
Looks like generic ATF artwork, similar to that that Syd Mead did. I say that because, if you look carefully, you can see the thrust reversing nozzles the ATF was originally planned for.
Ah, I see the problem. Thought we were talking about post #75.The single engine, relatively small size, the fact the very same design was seen with USMC markings, that it shows details (like the serrated forward edge of windscreen) absent from any pre-ATF artwork (as far as I can remember) but common after the F-22 selection, the fact it matches JAST Configuration 100 (as Flateric pointed out), everything point towards a Lockheed early JAST design.
And it's illustrated several times in the dedicated thread, including:

Clearly not the same design as Post #82.
Another source:This one, indeed. This is Lockheed's artist's concept ca.1985.
Another source:I found this on the DVIC site, on the first page of a search on 'ATF'. I haven't seen this design before; does anyone have more information?
