Soviet/Russian UAV and UCAV projects

Some really promising designs here!

also found this Link -

http://www.techworm.net/2015/07/russian-rostec-develops-the-worlds-first-uav-with-air-cushion-speed-of-100-kmph.html

Although im quite well versed in UAV/RPV terminology, im having a bit of a problem getting my head around this 'Air Cushion Speed' - possibly talking about the WIG effect?

Edit : - Perhaps this image found on the Rostec website is the UAV in question? if so it does sound like they refer to the WIG effect, looking at the shape of the wings and fuselage.

Andrey Shibitov:

"Together with our partners, we are developing a completely new for
Russia tiltrotor technology with a hybrid powerplant. We plan that
such a design scheme will allow us to confidently reach speeds of
up to 500 kilometers per hour."

It is supposed to create an unmanned vehicle with a take-off weight
of about 300 kilograms first. A small copy is needed solely for
demonstration purposes in order to assess in advance the prospects
of the project.

Then it is planned the same, but already for two tons. This machine
can already be used as a separate unit with its own range of tasks
befitting a heavy drone.

If that is just a hypothetical design,we can transfer it to;
Theoretical and Speculative Projects

AR-10 trans.JPG

ooooh lord just when I thought that only the Su-70 would just be used for long range air to ground missions stealth missions, It seems that it is also being assigned air to air roles regarding the 1st image of the hardpoints its carrying. Also I believe that the max speed is measured in km/hr.

Lightning drone controlling thunder drones.

The advanced high-speed strike drone "Grom" will be able to control a swarm of ten strike drones "Molniya". This was reported to TASS by a source in the military-industrial complex.

"The Grom unmanned aerial vehicle developed by Kronshtadt, in addition to its own strike capabilities, will be equipped with the ability to control a swarm of ten Molniya strike drones launched from another aircraft carrier," the source said.

He clarified that until recently, the Lightning drone was named "piranha". TASS has no official confirmation of this information.

According to the Kronstadt company, the thunder drone's own strike capabilities are associated with the presence of four suspension points - two under the wing consoles and two inside the fuselage. According to official data, with a take-off weight of 7 tons, it will be able to deliver a payload weighing 1.3 tons to a range of 800 km.

"Grom "will be able to use a wide range of weapons. In particular, the Tactical missile armament Corporation is preparing air-to-surface missiles, the new product 85 air-guided missile, as well as the KAB-250 and KAB-500 guided aerial bombs."

Su-70? That is an SR-10 derived drone, which is pretty much a dead project as far as I know.

Yeah the SR-10 is dead but I am assuming that the AR-10 is a separate project which might not be dead since this news just came out two weeks ago, Also found out that Yandex translate sometimes sucks such as max speed while someone else is telling me its weight.

I don't know what actual news is supposedly being reported, but those slides are from a quite old presentation.

MOSCOW, 14 Apr-RIA Novosti. A universal complex of guided and unguided weapons is being developed in the Russian Federation for several types of attack unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), including Forpost drones, a source in the military-industrial complex told RIA Novosti.
"Work continues on a single set of weapons for UAVs of different classes. The complex will include unguided, corrected and guided aerial bombs with a caliber of up to 100 kilograms, as well as air – to-surface guided missiles. A single set of weapons is planned to be used on Pacer drones (also known as Orion), Altius, Forpost, as well as on new UAVs that will be created in similar tactical and medium - altitude classes, "the source said.
He noted that several companies participate in the program. "Part of the range of ammunition was worked out with UAVs, including in Syria during airstrikes on terrorist targets, " the source added.
The source also said that the Pacer attack vehicle is now capable of carrying up to six adjustable 20-kilogram mini - bombs or three 50-kilogram mini-bombs from the new complex on three suspension units, and two such bombs on Outpost.
"The Altius drone will receive the same set of weapons, only it will be able to carry many times more ammunition. In the future, Altius and Pacer will be able to use adjustable and controlled aerial bombs of up to 100 kilograms, which are also being developed as part of a universal weapons complex," he added.

On high-res photos elsewhere, the new EO turret wears a Peleng decal, which is of course a Belarusian optics manufacturer. Could be a pitch to the Belarusian armed forces, given the venue.
