Hi friends!

Recently I discover this jugoslavian aircraft of the 1940. From what I understand, it was a light bomber stopped at the prototype stage. Unfortunately I have found very few pictures and no drawings: does anyone know anything more and have a 3-view?
Thanks in advance for your answers!

And from 1983 Czechoslovakian magazin L+K

Zmaj R-1 (R stands for Razarač - destroyer) was proposed by engineer Dušan Stankov in 1936, approved in 1938 and flew in 1940. Think of it as Yugoslav equivalent of De Havilland Mosquito. The nazis captured it in 1941 but the airport ground crew destroyed the plane before they could study it in detail alongside other prototype planes.

Serbian wikipedia has a good article about it, but you'll have to use google translate:

and here's a few rare zmaj (dragon) photos, from private collection:

For Czech readers: does that L+K article mention any unbuilt projects/R-1 variations from Zmaj-Zemun?

No, it doesn't :( . Only R-1 short story and description, and some general notes about Yugoslavian pre-war aircraft industry.

They have built several various models under license (including the Hawker Hurricane and He-8); after ww2 they have been nationalized and merged with Rogozharski and Icarus. Between ww1 and ww2 Belgrade had three aircraft factories in urban municipalities. All that remains is Icarus's headquarters building and few planes in museums. Here's the article about the company:

A few more Zmaj R-1 pictures.

So, it looks like the pilot was in the second cockpit, with the ring/bead site and the bombardier was in the first cockpit?

Sundog, you are probably right. Unfortunately, I do not have the pictures from inside the cockpit.
Here's a few uncut photographs.

no data
only that he could handle 1,600 kg of bombs
probably a French bomb or homemade by license

Are there no surviving docs about the bombs Yugoslavia used before the war?

the most worked by Vistad
I do not have a list of who did what

airplanes of Stankovic's constructor bombs in several calibers of different masses 2-200kg. . Stankovic was the founder and owner of the Vistad factory founded in Višegrad. The main plants of this factory were later built in Valjevo, which is today's Krušik - Valjevo.
