Only when the failed to respond to the pilot’s attempts to contact him, was action taken and the aircraft reduced altitude allowing Bohr to breathe normally and regain consciousness. Bohr went on to work on the Manhattan project, an American project that led to the development of the atomic bomb that would end the war, and plunge the world into the nuclear age".

Check the board - there is a thread with pics of the man-pod the P-38 (F-5 recon version) used - at least one time there was an observer with a hand-held camera in one on a combat mission.
