I suspect the only reason Australia got F-111 was replacing the Canberra became an election issue with the opposition pointing to an air force still waiting for its first supersonic fighter and having no supersonic strike aircraft in sight, while our northern neighbour was flying shiny new soviet types. Nothing triggers action more than the thought of losing government.
Yes it was around this time the "lets buy a couple of FRAM Gearings" to increase the size of the fleet, became DDGs with proposals to convert the Darings and Battles to DDGs. Also the cheap L2A1 AR and converted 7.62 Brens as LMGs became an M-60 acquisition. A decade of stuff all since Korea, became an urgent spend fest.

I wonder, would Australians keep Mk-10 Terrier GMLS or prefer to switch for the Mk-26 Standard GMLS? To summarize the choice:

* RIM-2 Terrier/SM-1ER with Mk-10 launcher have better range, but less fire rate; also its much heavier and bulky system
* RIM-66 SM-1MR with Mk-26 launcher have better fire rate, but less range. On the other hand, its much lighter, more compact, and compatible in terms of ammo & components with the Tartar systems already in service on Perth-class.

I do this recently
VV with CWIS and Mk26.
My main concern, if the modificatión could posible.
Mk 26 have vertical launcher at diferento of Mk10.
I have to change the radar for the more moder version

No insult intended, but if you are going to use my drawing without the proper SB etiquette I would appreciate the "upgrade" being equipment that would be substantially better than already on the ship to begin with. Removing DARDOs and the Allargatos in place of only Phalanx is woefully lowering her aerial defence capacity.

Oh please! Not that "you put your name two pixel too low; it's not a proper Shipbucket crediting" again!
Who said anything about “two pixel too low”? Perhaps reading comprehension would be an important area of study for you?

Shipbucket's crew, you know) I'm not sure how things are going there now, but about decade ago - when I still was on Shipbucket - their attitude were "fun? Who are talking about fun? We are doing SERIOUS PIXEL ART there, it's of vital importance that everything should be exactly as we want, your crediting is of wrong size/position/color, it's a VIOLATION!!!" Which drived me out from Shipbucket eventually.

Maybe they improved over years, I honestly don't visit them for a long, long time.

Yeah. I mean, due respect to those folks for trying to maintain forum standards in the face of the wide open internet, but even as a lurker I saw some of those threads devolve into the 30 Years War over whether or not the angle of shadow on one deck gun was perfectly correct.

Agree completely. I don't know how things are run on Shipbucket today - I left it a long time ago - but then, an entry level for newcomers was almost absurdly high, removing all the fun in the name of perfection.

Still much the same way today, standards are high and shading arguments galore.

Anyhow, crediting rules are clear and the SB community does report instances of copyright violations for action by the SB mod team, whether than be on Deviantart accounts, Youtube videos, mobile games or Chinese AI shell companies selling SB artworks printed onto t-shirts.

I don't think anyone cares too much if the credit line is 2px out, or not exactly the right font size - but we do care about the matter of respect of the artist.
And let's face it, if you're going to take the time to do a reasonably decent kitbash and swap parts about, then it doesn't take more than a few extra seconds to add your name to the credit list.

With all respect, I disagree. I remember being harassed exactly for the reason I did not use right font when adding my name to heavily modified picture. And severap times for not placing credits EXACTLY at the prescribed line (literally just a few pixels down). Sorry to hear that situation is still as bad as before.

Uh huh, sure buddy

I must asume you are B von Teapot.
The owner of the VV draw.
My apologies for the use of that drawing.
For the rest.
The DARDO s main task, in my undersatnding are anti-missile defense.
The upgrades put 3 of them.
You have per band 2 CIWS or 3 counting at the front.
This alternative history, so idea is that VV, ll be the center of the force. Sourrounding for DDG and FFG
