"From Defense Express we would like to note that, according to initial plans announced in 2025, the integration on the JAS 39C/D was not expected to be completed before 2028, whereas it is now scheduled for the second half of September 2026. In other words, the work was completed more than a year earlier than originally planned."

"It should be noted that, despite the involvement of Swedish company Saab in its development, none of the countries operating the Gripen currently uses the Taurus. Therefore, the main advantage at this time is the ability for European countries to share their stocks of Taurus missiles, as well as the previously mentioned possibility of supplying them to Ukraine."

Weren't they supposed to have integrated the Taurus years ago, according to their then marketing placards? Then how can something that was not done in time be accounted as achieved earlier than planned?!
An other claim confirming that Gripen, for sure, has outfought... Modesty.

No, only now. And Eurofighter doesn't have thos integration yet.
Until now, it was only on Tornado and on F-15K (though a very underwhelming one).

Well, as said, nobody of the actual Gripen users uses the Taurus missile, so there was no pressure from customer side. This integration happened very probably because next year the Gripen will go to war in Ukraina.

Taurus was developed partially by Saab Bofors Dynamics. Its existence on marketing placards was probably therefore partially to sell Taurus, not Gripen. With regards to its implementation, the combination of Saabs/Bofors involvement and the fact that Taurus shared at least some DNA with the DWS-39/BK90, which is a similar brick already certified on the Gripen. That probably made it so that they knew what to expect. Add some pessimistic hedging and you get something way ahead of schedule.

And Germany doesn't even look at the Gripen nor is Germany giving away Taurus.
Germany has ordered 600 Taurus NEO for use on Eurofighter. If Taurus NEO is intended as a replacement for 'old´ Taurus, German 'old' Taurus will be superfluous to German requirements. If I have understood correctly, half of 600 German Taurus inventory is operationally ready.
Gripen with 'old' Taurus in Ukrainian service? Never say never.
the only operator of both will be Sweden, in a couple years.
Can I borrow your crystal ball?

Taurus Neo won't replace the current stock for the foreseeable future, in fact the current stock of missiles is kept ready and being upgraded. Because in one of the few moments of lucidity the Bundeswehr realized that keeping an extensive stock of one of our most capable strike weapons is a pretty smart idea. Consequently the German military keeps and upgrades the existing missiles while getting ready for the improved Neo version as well which will supplement the current stock before replacing it after several decades.

The Bundeswehr and TAURUS Systems GmbH (a joint venture between MBDA and SAAB) have signed a contract for the maintenance and modernization of the TAURUS stand-off weapon system. The measures will ensure the weapon's operational readiness until at least 2045.

A quick google search goes a long way, although that's already asking too much from many people here.

Gripen with Taurus next year. The 2 reasons this might not happen is

1. Budanov states they need 30k soldiers recruited a month to break even or continue operations and Tusk states 27,000 losses a month from ukraine. What we still dont know is the current size of the ukraine army and how much they can recruit per month with their mobilization pool getting smaller each time. Some ukraine commander "perun" states things will get bad with russia's starlink replacement. When a collapse occurs the question will be how fast it will occur because gripens will be in less places prone to strikes then more places as options for ukraine.

2.russians only act reactionary hit refinery then they start destroying your refineries and close your ports in return. Hit warehouses they will destroy more of your warehouses in return. Gripens using Taurus will cause a bigger rebound which we dont know if ukraine can recover from in return.

Couple new QRA photos of ongoing deployment to Poland. Meteors and Iris-Ts, both live.
Note the TGP on the last two photos.

The succesful integration of the Taurus on the Gripen is changing the strategic positioning of Sweden. Instead of a defensive posture they intend to agresively respond with a wave of attacks in depth, using the new toy available for the Gripen.

Suplementary, a new weapon for the Gripen is wanted by the Swedish Air Force, one that can strike up to 2.000km distance.

This would allow a Gripen to strike targets up to the Urals, operating from swedish teritory. Quite menacing.

One would hope that when Sweden is attacked that they'd attack back. Kinda concerning that they didn't consider that up until now.
