These were notional designs by Sir Roy Fedden for a 1944 lecture, 'Future of Civil Aviation'. Best known for his engine work for Bristol, Sir Roy was then President of the R.Ae.S. and working for MAP (the UK's Ministry of Aircraft Production).

Roy Fedden Ltd. wouldn't be set until a year after this lecture was given. At Roy Fedden Ltd., the Fedden O-325 sleeve-valved HO6 piston engine was developed. Sir Roy was working on the Fedden Cotswold turboprop engine when the firm went under in April 1947.
