"Ni.D 590 was one of the responses of the French aeronautical trimotor program 1930 colonial industry. It flew for the first time the summer of 1932 and trials followed a few months until the 120 Bloch won the contest and Nieuport Delage threw in the towel.
Leaving aside the aspects of load of goods and passengers and transportation of wounded and sick, this aircraft design was focused on what we would now call its colonial usability. Instead of large glass cabins, the aircraft had a kind of large balcony open in the back of the fuselage, protected from the wind by the large square front cabin and some baffles, where the observers and the server could accommodate of the machine gun with a field of view without obstacles, completely free downward and backward, "such as a boat or a Zeppelin", according to the article dedicated to this plane Les Ailes on July 7, 1932."
