The early M-4 design study using TV-2Fs is also mentioned in the Red Star Series volume about the M-4 Bison on page 12. The TV-2F powered M-4 design study also had a height of 39 feet (12 meters). Since this proposal was conceived alongside other early design studies for the M-4, is it possible that Myasishchev must have decided on jet power as a more appropriate option for the Bison than the TV-2F, given that the crash of the first Tu-95 prototype (which used the TV-2F) highlighted design flaws with the TV-2F?
