The naïve might believe Colani's claim to be inspired by aerodynamics. He was 'inspired' perhaps but it has to be applied.
Curves don’t always make for the best aerodynamics.

Lots of very small coupes have flowing lines—but a simpler wedge like the TR-7 or Honda Prelude might actually have a lower drag coefficient despite looking like a slab.

To me (and I realize that I am hopelessly dating myself here) the Citroen DS is one of the most aesthetic cars ever designed. I still dream of dropping a purebred US muscle car engine and tranny in it and max this puppy out... Koenigsegg, here we come :)!
That would be a lot of fun!

Drop a Corvette LS or LT into it, add turbochargers, hang on!

"Je t'aurais Fantômas, JE T'AURAIS !!" De Funes made so many movies from 1963.

My favorite is Oscar : mad, mad, mad.

How I learned to drive De Funès totally crazy, with a perverse whack-a-mole game of three suitcases: one with 60 million francs, another one with 60 million francs of jewels, and the third one from the maid.
It's a masterpiece, the script a finely tuned clockwork with just one objective: getting De Funès erupt like a freakkin' indonesian supervolcano.

"Now open that suitcase, and you will see I'm not that crazy."

(dumbarse guy pulls out maid underwear from the suitcase. De Funes hits the roof.)

"AAARGH ! AAAaaaAAaaaaaaaaRGH !!!! Je suis zinzin ! Je suis zinzin. JE-SUIS-ZIN-ZIN !!"

Curves aren't necessarily a bad thing though.

This is a Citroën Traction 15-6 (15 fiscal horsepower - 6 in line cylinders - 80 hp SAE - born in 1938). This car is an iconic legend in France and was a dream for many people ... Henry Ford was a best friend of André Citroën and the stamping tools for all first model of this car was studied by Ford ingeniers ... which posed enormous problems of adaptation of the imperial measurements of the tools to the metric measurements of the machine-tools that put them into practice ! :) :) :)
As nothing concrete comes out of Colani’s studies we will never know if his more or less flying creatures really worked ! Imagine that this was the case ! What pilot would have been crazy enough to try them !

Ya I'm sticking to OBB's design philosophy of 'modified sphere'.

Yeah, with one little but important remark though: it's "je t'aurai", without the "s". It translates as "I'm gonna get you!", as opposed to "je t'aurais" which means "I would get you" (conditionnel) (bloody French conjugations!)

It's one of my favorites too! I really think De Funès movies ought to be part of everyone's movie culture. They have achieved cult status in most European, and many African, Asian, even Latin American countries, but sadly remain unknown to the American people. Plus they offer a unique outlook on 1960s France, a happier and simpler time, miles apart from the current, uchronic-like version...

They are at least elegant. In other news, Next Big Future reports that the IVO Q-drive contraption is adrift.

Those 300 pound Wiccans who eat ho-hos and demand that you call them goddesses?

At least you could use their "essential oils" as monopropellant. :)

The Q-drive contraption is both nonsensical AND ugly--so Luigi gets the win in that department.

With his multible ancestry and the long time he spend in China, France and other places, I do see him as world citicen, not just German.

I was facinated by his designs, although I don't like all of them. Maybe I missed something in live, but I don't no how to apply such a shape in sex live
