I guess this is as good a place as any to put this. It's a screenshot of something a Facebook friend shared this about 5 years ago. And I quote:
"I've taken this photo from a Lockheed SR-71 Research Guide from 1991 which I bought on Ebay a few months ago. In this photo which I never seen anywhere is a photo of a SR-71 carrying a hypersonic glided vehicle below its fuselage for hypersonic research. However, beyond that, nothing is known about this reseach project."
So, that being said, I too am very curious about this. That BGV looks quite similar to the Convair/General Dynamics BGV discussed here on this thread. Has anyone heard if a Blackbird-launched variant of the Convair/GD BGV was looked at?
