Hi,

in 1930,the French airforce issued a competition for a Colonial
aircraft,13 aircraft and projects were submitted to it,from them;
Nieuport NiD-590,NiD-690,Bloch-120,SPCA-81 and Dewoitine.
Does anyone know the other projects,or know anything about
Dewoitine aircraft ?.

In Nieuport 1909-1950 (Docavia Editions Larivière) maybe your source ?
It is wrote too that there were two SPCA : one with one engine and one with 3 engines.

In Les avions Dewoitine (Docavia éditions Larivière)
It is wrote that the challenger for Dewoitine was the D.43, later D.430, with three 300 hp Lorraine 9 Na "Argol" D radial engines. It was a derivative of the D.31 for civil transport.
The D.430-01 prototype flew for the first time on the 02/10/32.
Max speed : 262,2 km/h
Max weight : 5375 kg
Its cost was too high and the Bloch 120 won the contest.

The D.430-01 was foreseen to become the D.432-01 with three diesel engines Clerget 9 T (300 hp). The work was made in Toulouse in 1937, but nobodys knows what was the following story of this plane when it had gone from Toulouse.

There was a derivative D.431 project for civil air transport with the same engines or 3 Gnome Rhone Titan Major 7 Kd with the same power or 3 Hispano Suiza 9 Qr with 420 hp.

I got some tenders;

Nieuport NiD-590,NiD-690,Dewoitine D-430,Bloch-120,Bernard-160,
Bernard-161,Loire-11,Potez-40,SPCA-81,Romano R-16 and Lorraine-
Hanriot LH-70,also may be SPCA-90.

Re: Weymann 66 colonial trimotor twin-boom biplane prototype......

Dear Hesham, one of the entrants in the 1930 Colonial Aircraft Competition was the Weymann 66. Here is an article in French about the Weymann 66 which began flight-testing in August 1933. As you can see it was built, flown and flight-tested; so it isn't an unbuilt "project" (Moderators; should I have put this in "Aerospace" instead?)......

The article comes from the 15th June 1969 issue of Aviation Magazine International......

From my dear Tophe,

Loire-20 was a project for Colonial duty powered by two 400 hp Hizpano-Suiza engines,
I think it was also submitted to this contender.
