So, There are firefighting versions of the Cobra?

These are ex-ArNG AH-1Gs that have been stripped and refurbished from the boneyard to act as fire spotters and "bambi bucket" haulers. They have the power train (and therefore, uh, the power) of UH-1s with a much smaller (and lighter) frame, especially with no more weapons hanging off of it, so they can actually haul a lot.

i see from the picture that they still retain their stub wings. i'm assuming therefore, that the lift they generate more than offsets the weight saved by removing them.
