Hey everyone, came across these pictures on an old German newspaper about WW1. Lets use this thread to aggregate all information about early armoured cars.

PS: Does anyone recognize the American models?

The vehicle on the right is indeed based on a Mack chassis. But the AC Mack was just one of three virtually identical armoured bodies built on a variety of chassis in 1916 for experimentation by the New York Army National Guard. The other chassis came from Locomobile and White. (These three were joined by the Jeffery Quad (which had a completely difference armoured body).

For these NYANG cars, see Armoured Cars of New York:

Oddly, none of the chassis supplier's manufacturing plants were based in New York state.

- Mack Brothers Company (Allentown, Pennsylvania)
- Locomobile Company of America (Bridgeport, Connecticut)
- Thomas B Jeffery Company (Kenosha, Wisconsin)
- White Motor Company (Cleveland, Ohio)
