I would fully expect every warship to be constantly operating with high power horizon search radars live and radiating, looking for AShMs.

Constantly. Normal sailing operations, not just battlestations.
I am not sure it's going to be practical on a warship, even a Japanese ASEV.
For both technical and tactical reasons... warship is not a purpose made (peacetime) early warning radar.

One doesn't even have to go to the lengths quellish mentioned. It should have been assumed that the premier long range bomber of the USAF is able to carry a derivative of the premier ALCM used by the AF and Navy. If one looks at launch platforms for the AGM-158 and the AGM-158C, the overlap is overwhelming.

That's why I said it shouldn't be a surprise really. And the B-21 will also launch LRASM and future anti-ship weapons, that's

Asking questions of your government shouldn’t be seen as “going to lengths”.

I think you and me both know that for most going through the process and asking at the right place, waiting for a response, is already a great undertaking. If it wasn't you wouldn't be in the minority that regularly does this. I find your mindset commendable though.

No, "Air And Space Forces Magazine" is not an official source, which the content of their article makes clear. This is the official source, the release from DoD :

https://www.pacaf.af.mil/News/Artic...conduct-b-2-lrasm-live-fire-sinking-exercise/

TWZ, Aviationist, etc. were all (as usual) circular reporting, repeating each other.

No, in most cases ( and with the relevant office for this case in particular) it can be just sending an email or filling out a form.

I would like to think that isn’t “too hard” or “great lengths” for the average person.

OK maybe not, but neither pacaf.af.mil, nor anyone else reported about this before this week. So I guess everyone (incl. paid services btw.) failed to do their homework. ‍

They would rather have other people do the work, and they benefit from it. There seems to be a lot of that going around.

It absolutely was.

It absolutely was not. The DoD aircraft stores certification process is well defined. Stores certification is largely a safety issue and the certification itself is not subject to classification unless the existence of the store or aircraft itself is subject to classification. LRASM and the B-2 are both disclosed programs.

For random stores certifications be subject to classification or other onerous access restrictions would create safety issues.

Having seen non-classified records that reference LRASM testing and certification on global strike platforms including the B-2, I can assure you that the "carry capability" was not "classified".

If you claim the stores certification was "classified" and was declassified so that PACAF could put it in a press release for an exercise, which office was the OCA for the declassification? The B-2 SPO? The LRASM SPO?

My dude, there is a very large difference between "not normally disclosed" and "classified".

It's the difference between "we don't talk about that in polite company" and "we will go to jail for talking about it"
I'm very well aware. I've spent 5 years in classified spaces. Have you?

Considering you've never step foot inside of a classified space, worked on a classified program, and only read headlines, I am telling you this carry capability was classified.

You don't have to believe me as is your right, but stating objectively that it wasn't classified as some sort of 'gotcha' is just wrong. You do not know. You do not have experience in working in these spaces and programs. You have no idea what you're talking about.

Indeed. Quellish can rub folks the wrong way sometimes, but "reading headlines" is absolutely not their MO. I'd guess they have filed more FOIA requests than the rest of the readership here combined. (Myself very much included. I'm an above-average googler, but I won't claim more than that outside a very few topics.)

These are your assumptions, not facts.

LRASM Clears Integration Milestone for Use on the B-1B

The June 2 “event zero” validation test at Dyess Air Force Base, Texas, connects the AGM-158C LRASM to the Lancer, testing the missile’s ability to communicate with the bomber. For this test, engineers used a specially fabricated cable rather than fully loading the weapon onto the aircraft, according to an Air Force release.
The B-1 test came within weeks of a B-2 firing a LRASM during exercise Valiant Shield 26 near the Marianas Islands, the first time the service publicly acknowledged LRASM firing by a B-2.

I wonder which of the holes in Peleliu the LRASM was. The GARC video showed three big blast holes just above the waterline, which were presumably were the LRASM, Harpoon, and NSM shots. The first one looked the most impressive with what looked like an entire frame of hull plate blown open.
