Boeing Vertol Model 107 Variants and Projects

Is that some sort of cannon firing off the rear ramp? Mounting looks rather flimsy. SS-11/Entac missiles? What are meant to be in the sponsons? Miniguns?

Caption says the weapon on the rear ramp is a rocket launcher meant to swing down and fire forward. It looks rather like a recoilless rifle to me.

The sponsons are supposed to have "small rocket launchers" but they actually look a lot more like grenade launchers to me.

What probably is the most heavily armed version of this helilcopter, someone can
dream of, was shown in "Der Flieger", December 1962. Don't think, that I ever put
more weapons on the drawing of an aircraft as a schoolboy ! ;D

Wow Jemiba that is one hell of a weapons loadout!!
The 2.75in, SS-11's and 40mm grenade launcher looks workable. But the Bullpup ASM's would have to have some major impact on the helicopters overall performance!
Very interesting the conveyer-like arrangement of the 2.75in & SS-11 reloads! I'm assuming the SS-11 (if that's what they are) are fired out the rear door/ramp?

Thanks again

I think so. Every single one of those weapons installations may have been workable, I think,
but not all together in a single airframe, of course. The drawing is from a page titled "Bewaffnete
Hubschrauber" (armed helicopters), all other pictures are photos of real installations.

Factory display model of the Armed Vertol 107 helicopter project, from about 1962. The twin SS-11 missile rack retracts into the fuselage for reloading. There is a cannon housing and rocket canisters on the other side.

A wonderful device for metal-plating Charlie.
