The Gibbs & Cox design for the Evolved AWD went through a few configuration changes during the contest. The initial detail design had the SPY-1 radar system a deck lower than the final version. It was raised so as to not suffer a radar horizon disadvantage compared to the Navantia F-100 it was competing against in the Evolved vs OTS stage of the AWD competition. The Navantia design for the Evolved AWD has yet to be seen publicly but according to one very senior source was a “very sweet ship”. Here are some pictures of the initial lower bridge Gibbs & Cox AWD.

The first public release of Gibbs & Cox AWD pictures was at a time when Defence (Australian) was still exploring multiple options for the CIWS. So Gibbs & Coix drew in a notional CIWS that looked like the old Soviet 30mm 'dalek' mount. In the end Defence decided to stick with Phalanx so Gibbs & Cox updated the design (along with some other features).
