In mid of 1951, in the region of Kazajstan; Wolfgang Ziese -component of the program " COMBINAT OKB-2 from the old team of the german SIEBEL-, exceed Mach 1 with his plane DFS 346.

Although this plane was under the belly of Tu-4 (from captured B-29), that would have been interesting it was mounted on top of another german continued development for the soviets; showing two ways of aerospace research of those years: swept back and swept forward wings.

Errrrm... that would be a pretty disastrous combination. I can't see a good way to separate those two that doesn't involve massive damage to the carrier's vertical stabilizer.

In reality the DFS was launched by a Boeing B29 captured by Russians during WWII.

Thanks for so many information of the story of Wolfgang Ziese and soviet DFS 346, Justo. He´s much less known than Charles "Chuck" Yeager and his X-1.

I chose to make the DFS 346 with the Junkers Ju EF-131 for the attractive and interesting design of this one; wich ended with the Junkers EF-132; groundbreaking of strategic soviet bombers.

Do you have any profile/image of Junkers EF-132? .

Thanks.
