but on operational
That's what I'm talking about! I'm quite curious about this as it's quite rare to see an Su-27SK paired with a RVV-AE..But can the R-77 Pylon be simply installed on the Su-27SK without modification? Because I am quite sure that the Pylon is not compatible with the Fire control system or components of the Su-27SK itself..

all SK/SKM after the first general overhaul got radar N001VE
That's very interesting information! I'm pretty sure I missed something but it seems very rare to see news reports saying that the Su 27SK received the N001VE (Although the Su-27SKM received the N001VEP1 from the early)

Ooops mistake, sorry. SK and MK from 2003 had N001E first . After that so called TNI AU got SKM and MK2 with N001VE (VEP). During the first general overhaul all SK/MK got VEP radar like SKM/MK2. All of them were produced by KnAAZ( former KnAAPO ). Radar N001VE/VEP has so called LITER frequencies which can be used together with R-77E and that capability basic N001/E has not.

General Overhaul Su-27SK and Su-30MK never add new radar still use N001E and N001VE only integrated ECM Pod From Belarus

Indonesian Su-27SKM and Su-30MK2s have N001VE

''28 июля 2019 года на авиабазу ВВС Индонезии "Султан Хасануддин" после завершения технического обслуживания и ремонта на ОАО «558 АРЗ» (Барановичи, Республика Беларусь) доставлены два истребителя Су-30МК (бортовые номера TS-3001 и TS-3002) Военно-воздушных сил этой страны.
По информации издания Scramble Magazine истребители модернизированы до уровня Су-30МК2.''

''On July 28, 2019, two Su-30MK fighter jets (tail numbers TS-3001 and TS-3002) belonging to the Indonesian Air Force were delivered to the Sultan Hasanuddin Air Force Base following the completion of maintenance and repairs at the 558th Aircraft Repair Plant (Baranovichi, Republic of Belarus).
According to Scramble Magazine, the fighters have been upgraded to the Su-30MK2 standard.''

Also it is interesting the story about Angolan AF or ex- IAF Su-30K :

''Since 2017: 12 x Su-30K. Angola has purchased 12 ex-Indian Su-30K, overhauled and modernized in Baranovichi (Belarus). Contract was signed in October 2013.''

Some sources mentioned that they were brought to the level of the KN version ( with the N001V/VE).

That's like one month worth of production lost! I wonder if Russia can ever recover from this incredible strategic-level loss? Truly the entirety of the VKS has been wiped out in that picture.

Jokes aside, I find it funny that this is newsworthy, that people genuinely make videos about *checks notes* the loss of two tactical fighters (out of ~200 per type respectively).

If we increase the lower photo where we can see the tarmac and the two taxiways ,we can see only two black spots created by the impact of two drones. There are no remains or parts of destroyed planes who had to move along those taxiways because they certainly didn't park there.

In fact, the real true is that several days ago ,one UkrAF F-16AM (not MiG-29 as Ukr. sources mentioned) ,was shot down and one really young fighter-pilot unfortunately was KIA( source: FB).

How do you know it is F-16AM rather than Mig-29? do we have the wreckage or something?

True but the lost of fighter aircraft is always significantly less than the loss of ground vehicle like MBT, IFV so it always kind of attract attention

you tend to post quite a bit when a NATO airframe is lost.

Do I? I haven't really touched on the variety of most recently lost F-16s in Ukraine (just posted the article about general maintenance woes which I used to highlight the dependence of the F-16 on the wider NATO maintenance framwork to live up to it's perception of a low maintenance workhorse). I also didn't touch on Saudi Arabia and the US running their F-15s into the ground against Iran and Yemen. Why? Because it's not newsworthy, although it would be funny to point out because some people think the F-15 and USAF invincible (for whatever reason). Also with the sheer size of the combined NATO fleet and the steady flow of mishaps provided by the F-16 alone I'd have to do nothing but post about accidents and losses.

So..."nuh uh".
