good spotIs that second slide definitely from the "NASP pile"? It looks a lot like Rockwell's ATF design.

Slightly better version (tighter/different crop) of the airport pic in this. I took it from a booklet/pamphlet (don't think it was strictly NASP, could have been UTC maybe?) I found online a good while back and for the life of me can't find the same
Nice post! The only thing that comes to my mind is the Global Range Mach 29 Aerospace Plane (GRM-29A):There was a black project version at McDonnell Douglas my father was on, the project didn't last very long and got cancelled. This was one of the posters I had hanging in my room as a kid. Thanks for this. Couldn't find it anywhere, but there was another painting/poster I had which was a space profile of it, looking for that one. I think there's very little record of this project unfortunately.
My father was like a 30+ year employee of McDonnell Douglas as an electrical engineer. It had an acronym for a name and was a doomsday bomber I believe. Can't remember the name of it, it was an acyronym similar to nasp I believe but significantly more letters, been trying to wrack my brain for it but really difficult over 40 years ago.
The project name/acronym was very dark. I remember being shocked by it as a kid, definitely had like doomsday or nuclear or something to that effect as part of it. I need to look through my old papers/books/posters and my dads, it's probably still there, I think we still have everything from back then but moved a lot of times since then.Nice post! but not sure if that really has significantly more letters, also rocket not scramjet powered like NASP.
That would be nice! Do you happen to remember whether this project was more towards the mid 1980s or late 1980s/early 1990s (if it didn't last very long)? The project name/acronym was very dark. looks like these were mostly from around 86 right? In 87 we moved to the east coast and I started high school there, so would have had to be 85- mid 87. I think the project ending prompted my father to move to the east coast since he had been given clearances for the project...he was able to make use of those better outside of McDonnell Douglas for a while, but eventually returned. That would be nice! (BTW I suppose you noticed there's a larger color version of your poster image here.)
That is definitely the Rockwell proposal. Auction sellers are sometimes a bit confused if they don't have subject expertise from what I have learned.was this posted in this forum also? It's hilarious to me that its listed as the rockwell x-30, but then specifically says later that it's for McDonnell Douglas. Maybe there was something on the bottom of the plaque. https://www.rrauction.com/auctions/lot-detail/340985105505077-rockwell-x-30-nasp-model/
Oh yeah it was.
If you mean the poster image it is signed by "Horonzak" on the lower right corner of the full size image, same as several other McDonnell paintings of the mid 1980s. Doesn't match the style of Mike either.Ahh so did this guy paint it then? He does refer to it as the x-30. interesting.

Ah right, so Horonzak was the famous mcdonell douglas artist right? I think I visited his shop once when I was a kid? He had an office like right inside one of the main reception areas in lb as I recall? That is definitely the Rockwell proposal. Auction sellers are sometimes a bit confused if they don't have subject expertise from what I have learned.
