CiTrus90's 3D Drawings of Unbuilt Aircraft

Hey Citrus, big fan of your work! I wish your stuff was in a videogame or something :)

A suggestion if possible: the Aeritalia 320/14. Would love to see you make this since there doesn't seem to be an artwork depicting this! Mid to late 70s vintage, would have been a light 4th gen fighter like an F-16 or Mirage 2K :)

Thank you!

Funny you say you wish I did aircraft for videogames, since that's pretty much what started me with 3d modelling in the first place (way over 10 years ago now). I think there are still some modded aircraft I worked on for IL2 1946 floating around the net.

I'd love to make a model of the Aeritalia 320/14, but without proper blueprints or a number of good quality pictures I don't think I'll be able to, unfortunately.
The ones available in the Aeritalia AIT.311 / AIT.315 / AIT.320 light fighter/attack projects thread are not clear enough for me to make a proper model and the blueprint that is shown I highly doubt it's for AIT.320/14 (at a glance it seems to be significantly smaller than the wind tunnel model shown in the pictures, with a vertical tail that is much shorter as well).

Any renders with the landing gear out? Curious to see how that, if at all, changed due to CWIP.

Neither the CWIP scale model or its 3 view drawing show hints about the landing gear configuration.
It would have certainly had to be changed from the original one on the F-111 though, since the underslung AIM-54s would have precluded its operation.

Very nice job, been following it for a while and I am still fond of it. I would love some version of the Dassault LOGIDUC program (moyen duc and grand duc) or of the Mirage Mach 3 ones…

"For the CWIP configuration, Grumman engineers deleted the bomb bay and escape capsule and reduced the volume required for the main landing gear by not allowing for the large high-flotation tires required for operation from unprepared fields....

All six Phoenix missiles were now carried on the fuselage, four semi-submerged and two on short pylons on the lower sides of the fuselage. This arrangement eliminated both the wing pylons and swivel mechanisms required to keep the missiles aligned when the wings were swept. I haven't yet found any information on the main landing gear configuration change required by putting two missiles on the centerline of the belly, but presumably it resembled that on either the Grumman F11F Tiger or the North American A3J Vigilante.

The center fuselage with the engine inlets and wing mounting structure were basically unchanged except for the main landing gear bay."

Fingers crossed Tommy will find more information!!

That thread is totally awesome. @CiTrus90 : amazing work !

That word "colossal" sounds so much like a desperate cry for help. "The F-111B was so obese, weight reduction wasn't enough. COLOSSAL weight reduction was necessary."

Really like the colors! Hope it would have ejection seats!
Thanks!
I felt inspired by a few pictures of drone controller aircraft from the US Navy's GMGRU-1. I felt that going for an AJ Savage or A-3D Skywarrior paint scheme would have been a bit "boring".

I'm unsure about the seats, but for illustrative purposes only I decided to represent it equipped with F-89 ejection seats (still a Northrop product and pretty much contemporary, so it seemed like a reasonable pick to me).

Hey Citrus! Any chance you could do this?
In future, maybe...
