Introduce Yourself

Hello everyone. Been on this board for 10 - 15 years. I’m an USAF veteran of 20 years, some work as a federal civilian, and worked for Lockheed/Martin and Northrop/Grumman. Just retired a couple of months ago.

Love this board. Fantastic info with a lot of smart individuals contributing.

Hello, I'm Reyska also known as Reyviation or SirR3ys.
I'm an aviation enthusiast from Germany.
I found this forum tonight via a Reddit post on the topic of Migbus.
I'm interested in all kinds of aircraft; rotary or fixed wing, old or modern day and no matter how abstract or strange it seems.

Hey folks! My name's Tristen Schieferle (chef-early) and I'm from the Central Valley of California. Age 23, now. I went through the Bioresource and Agricultural Engineering program at Cal Poly in San Luis Obispo, CA! I love looking at old structures or speculative science/engineering that pushes the limits in hopes of inspiration. Plus, "big machine make brain happy," is essentially the gist of it. I'm generally interested in everything, it's kind of my issue. With that being said I'm super excited to explore the forum and see what everyone has been able to share!

Also, if anyone likes playing Stormworks, Beseige, or Space Engineers every once in a while... those games are my jam. Let me know :)

I am from Toronto, Canada, 52 years old. Been interested in space exploration and aviation since I was a child. I will admit to being influenced by science fiction to some extent. Currently wondering if I'm too old to get a private pilot's license...

Greetings!

32, American Midwest. I don't have much experience in any fields relating to this sites topic, but I have one major fault - I do text based roleplay (nation states in more recent years though I still do character focused ones too).

Now because I have that fault, I have to research nitch information sometimes, which then led me here. I want to be able to click on attachments to see some design elements better, and research the flaws/advantages of them. Probably wont make topics but may ask (on topic) questions in discussions to expand my knowledge.

Also X-22A my beloved.

Hello!

My name is Jeroen van Dijk, I am 27 years old and I live in Tilburg, the Netherlands. For several years I am interested in aerospace design and airships. I am planning to make a miniture Zeppelin for myself (very long-term goal). I am single and still educating myself at the moment

Hello, I'm 18 years old. For as long as I remembered I have been interested in Military stuff.

I particularly felt fascinated by R.O.C. Taiwan's military because the country has been facing so many difficulties in purchasing weapons(particularly submarines and fighter jets), but have managed to overcome obstacles and build an army with modern equipment.

Hello. I have been working on a personal project for over 3 years now. It was originally just to have a simple count of each countries military equipment but over time it grew into 2 fold.

http://sergeymilitaryrankings.blogspot.com
1. My "SMR" or my Military encyclopedia. It has three elements

1A. Massive book for my criteria, info, Generations, methodology for numbers and sources on my work.

1B. My own "military balance" that gauges the strengths of individual countries using what i have coined the 4-6-6. Which is defining a country's military capabilities by working out their

Army
Land force
Air force
Navy

Defined by

Logistics
Capabilities
Maintenance
Production
Numbers
Generations

Supported by a country's overall

Production capabilities
Economic capital
Combat Manpower
Military technology
Natural resources
Logistical abilities

It goes into ALL of these details. I'm not bragging but it puts military balance to shame. For example for fighter jets. I tell you.

What Gen they are
What their role is
How sophisticated their EW is
How much they can carry
How many hardpoints
How sophisticated is their radar

Similar processes are done for tanks, SAMs, Ships, etc.

1C. Finally my equipment capabilities. It tells you all the details of equipment. For example a Tank. It tells you full details of

Fire Control
Targeting data
Armour values
Weapon values
Speed and capabilities
Self defense abilities

Anything that is a defining feature is included.

For example fighter jets. I go into

How many targets tracked
How long non tracked targets are tracked
How powerful SAR is
How long radar imaging takes
How many self defense sensors
Full details of missiles
Specific angles for radar or EOTS coverage

And much much more.

2. I started with friends. I'm.the only one left. I started writing personal essays. Some are very well done others are more opinion. I'm on tik tok, you tube and blogger.

I'm always open to feedback and please remember. I'm not perfect. I have made numerous mistakes to my works but I always strive to adapt and correct. I've always loved SPF and score them high for objectivity.

I started this as originally I wanted to create a better military balance as I thought it was very bare bones, during my research I discovered just how little objective military analysis there is with groups I used to respect (ISW and IISS) being absolutely dreadful in terms of objectivity. I also noticed what I would I would come to despise that being peoples methodology for judging equipment or a country.

The scurge in name being.

"X equipment is good/bad if its from Y country"

When I understood that this is how so many people view things I began to understand why they have such views.

I mostly enjoy researching Russian equipment and debunking "cold war era" propaganda that exists around them.

If you have any questions I'm happy to help.

Well I respect the fact you didn't just ban me like they did at Sturgeons House. They claimed that my blog and its contents wasn't a suitable subject despite being all military related (they also had forums dedicated to the Ukraine war). But I mean I get you say this forum is for unrealized military projects and I would totally get that but can you explain why We have the administrator starting a discussion on produced avionics of production aircraft and asking for specifics on production radars on production aircraft and there is discussions on the Vietnam and Ukraine wars and all these topics are still followed up to this day.

Edit: I think I'll just leave since im sensing a lot of not hostility but just i get im not wanted lol. I like the forum and keep it up but I understand my content or its discussions aren't for everyone.

Anyway peace out.

Greetings,

I am Jake Winters, commonly known by my psuedonym "Inference". I am a computer-science researcher who focusses on security. I have a vast interest in science and technology, and apply hard logic and facts to situations rather than sugarcoat them. I am based in Great Britain.

Outside of this website, you can find me researching, writing code, updating my website, and filing Issues and submitting Pull Requests on Git servers to improve public projects.

This website seems like a subset of what I am interested in, so I thought I would check it out as a member, hopefully helping people out in the process.

Feel free to contact me for any reason. I respond to everyone and have typically-fast response times.

This is a highly suboptimal and unwanted outcome.

Okay everyone, nice to meet you for the first time. I'm from China and I consider myself somewhat of a military enthusiast.
I apologize and wish to remain anonymous, so please use my forum pseudonym.
Working at a large state-owned enterprise related to construction, currently considering changing jobs.
The original intention of coming here was to find some of Lockheed's strange aircraft designs, but it seems everyone here is much friendlier than on "other major social platforms," so I decided to join in and discuss while sharing some of my own predictions.
This is probably the most friendly forum I've seen in a while for discussing Chinese engineering projects. Due to the highly confidential nature of some projects here, I can only speculate with a few people to try and guess what these things are for. But since I'm a native Chinese speaker, I can probably translate some of the more difficult-to-translate content to some extent.
It's great not having to watch a bunch of idiots talk about politics; engineering is much more human-friendly.
Given my poor English skills, this text will be roughly translated by AI, hoping there won't be any ambiguities that might offend anyone.

Hello everyone.
I am a Korean. This is my first time visiting this forum, and I was very impressed by the interesting discussions here.
I have a question: would it be acceptable for me to share a conceptual design I've been working on, specifically related to an engine?
Please understand that I am using an AI translator, so my English may be awkward or my replies might be slow. Thank you for your understanding.

Hello everyone!
I'm from Mexico, now studuying aeronautic engineering. My favortie topic was history, specially WWII era. Tanks, airplanes and waships defined my high school era lol. I found this forum because of a thread about the Japanese Jet Engines developments back at WWII.
Hope to learn more in the threads that are here!

Hi,
what kind of engine?
cheers

Hello, I'm interested in all things that fly probably because my father was radio air-gunner for the RAF, in a Wellington bomber, during WWII. He took me to many flying events as I grew up. I lived through the cold war period and was lucky to see the growth in technology and the resulting plethora of prototype aircraft on display at Farnborough, Biggin Hill, and North Weald airfields in the fifties and sixties. I saw so many technology demonstrators, I cannot remember them all. They ranged from bizarre flying bedsteads, for what would become the vertical take off Harrier, to Concorde's delta wing supersonic prototypes like the Fairey Delta and the Bristol 188 and the subsonic HP 115.
Thank you all.
Mike

Howdy, I'm Killfish. 23 going on 24 year old Norwegian with an enormous interest in ship designs and refits/rebuilds from the late Pre-Dreadnought era up to an ever-shifting cutoff around the Missile era (currently someplace in the 60s), and enjoy trying to come up with my own period-and-nation appropriate designs based on what existed either in steel or paper or the head of someone long dead. I am always on the hunt for more information about design proposals/projects made for or made by Scandinavian countries, particularly Norway although Sweden also piques interest.

I am the owner and first moderator of this site. My name is Paul Martell-Mead, I am 32, and live in London, England. I work in IT, but I am very interested in military aviation technology and have built up a large database of knowledge on this subject. I post as "overscan" or "aerospacetech" on various aviation forums.

I recently got married in New Zealand and plan to move there eventually with my New Zealand wife, Vanessa.

Please, don't forget English is the forum's language for a practical reason.
Just takes a little effort to machine translate your text and being kind to those that can't read your own language. Thanks!
