Chinese Space Station

Found a way to watch it live, in Chinese though.

Good news that the first three astronauts have lifted of to the Chinese space station for a three month stay.

The Russian found a way to get to Chinese Space Station with Progress and Soyuz spacecraft
it seems that Roscosmo overlook a Soyuz launch site in South America...
and ESA show interest in cooperation to launch experiment and Astronaut to Tianhe station.

I have to say that ESA manned spaceflight "strategy" is quite uncomprehensible to me.

On one side, they team with ISS partners - Orion Service Module and Gateway.

Yet at the same time, they want to be part of Russia-China space alliance, as shown here.

Pretty weird...

A tendency towards neutrality and nonalignment is perfectly comprehensible.

One might consider it unreasonable moral cowardice, or consider it an opportunistic fig leaf of impartiality from Europeans wilfully and irredemably tied to the American yoke, but incomprehensible it is not.

I would pick the two bolded parts...

well what do you do when there are not enough funding to drive your own space programs..? sort of logical to spred your wings(funding) towards other space agency that do have a serious development.

Its does not help moaning about this, it is just way of life.

I did not said "opportunistic" was necesserily a bad thing. "Pragmatism" is similar - can be useful, or can be plain cynicism. It is a matter of point of view - ends and means, as "the ends justify the means".

Precisely. I was not criticizing the decision - I think it can be viewed as perfectly reasonable from the Euro point of view. The Euros get to posture a bit, grab a bit of Chinese trade, and appease the Americans while getting to play the Yanks and Chinese off against each other to angle for the best deal (especially from the Yanks, who have the best tech and shiniest toys to offer). Competition lowers prices.

You said the decision was incomprehensible. The decision can be controversial, but it is easy to find many different ways to comprehend it. It is a very comprehensible decision.
