What can we say about this?

I have a copy of the book American Secret Projects: Bombers, Attack, and Anti-Submarine Aircraft 1945-1974 and I should clarify that the requirement for the light bomber for which Curtiss, Douglas, North American, and Convair designs were devised was conceived after World War II, and thus a different operational requirement than the one that the XA-43, XA-44, and XA-45 were designed for.

The initial Douglas 1018 proposal had two Wright T35 turboprops and two J33 turbojets, but the final proposal (Model 1018-5) was a pure jet design, utilizing two J35 turbojets.
